Abstract
Procedimiento para purificar etanol bruto y obtener un azeótropo de etanol-agua sustancialmente puro, que comprende alimentar separadamente el etanol bruto y agua a una única columna de hidro-selección que tiene una sección de reflujo por encima del punto de alimentación del agua, una sección intermedia entre el punto de alimentación del etanol bruto, una sección de separación entre el punto de alimentación del etanol bruto y el plato de extracción lateral de producto, y una sección e base por debajo del plato de extracción lateral de producto, en el que la relación de platos teóricos en las secciones de reflujo, intermedia y de separación está en el intervalo 1:3 , 4-5, 5:8-11, conteniendo la columna de hidro-selección al menos 66 platos reales y trabajando a temperaturas entre 121ºC y 177ºC y a una presión por encima de 3,5 kg/cm2 absolutos, alimentándose el agua de la columna en un punto por encima del punto de alimentación del etanol bruto, y siendo la relación molar del agua alimentada a etanol en la alimentación de etanol bruto al menos 10:1, retirar una fracción de vapor de cabeza que contiene sustancialmente todas las impurezas volátiles, y devolver parte de la fracción en vapor de cabeza después de condensación a la columna en forma de un reflujo líquido que mantiene una relación de reflujo de al menos 200:1 expresada sobre el producto destilado, retirar una corriente lateral de etanol acuoso purificado sustancialmente exento de todas las impurezas del plato de extracción lateral de producto por debajo del punto de alimentación del etanol bruto, alimentar el etanol acuoso purificado en la mitad inferior y opcionalmente álcali acuoso en la mitad superior de una columna de rectificación, trabajando dicha columna a temperaturas entre 71º y 121ºC, recircular una corriente de purga de cabeza que contienen acetaldehido y otras impurezas a la alimentación de etanol bruto a la columna de hidro-selección y retirar un azeótropo de etanol-agua sustancialmente puro que contienen menos de i ppm de cualquiera de las impurezas, excepto metanol, en la alimentación de etanol bruto en forma de una corriente lateral desde un punto por encima de la alimentación de alcalí acuoso, si existe, a la columna y un efluente acuoso alcalino sustancialmente exento de etanol desde la base de la columna
