Abstract

PROCEDIMIENTO PARA LA EXTRACCION DE ACIDO POLI-3-HIDROXIBUTIRICO A PARTIR DE UNA SUSPENSION ACUOSA DE CELULAS BACTERIALES QUE LO CONTIENEN. SE INTRODUCE LA SUSPENSION EN UNA CORRIENTE DE GAS CALENTADO A UNA TEMPERATURA SUPERIOR A 100GC, CON LO QUE SE EVAPORA EL AGUA DE LA SUSPENSION, RECOGIENDOSE LAS BACTERIAS SECAS RESULTANTES. A CONTINUACION SE PONEN EN CONTACTO LAS BACTERIAS CON UN DISOLVENTE DE EXTRACCION DEL ACIDO POLI-3-HIDROXIBUTIRICO EXISTENTE EN LAS MISMAS Y POSTERIORMENTE SE AISLA DICHO ACIDO DEL DISOLVENTE DE EXTRACCION. OPCIONALMENTE PUEDE EMPLEARSE UN DISOLVENTE EN EL QUE SEA INSOLUBLE EL ACIDO, PERO QUE DISUELVA LOS LIPIDOS Y/O PIGMENTOS DE LAS CELULAS BACTERIALES. EL ACIDO POLI-3-HIDROXIBUTIRICO ES DE EMPLEO EN LA OBTENCION DE REVESTIMIENTOS, PELICULAS O FIBRAS, Y LOS RESTOS DE BACTERIAS PUEDEN REFINARSE PARA PREPARAR ALIMENTOS O FERTILIZANTES.
