CONSTA DE UNA CANTIDAD DE AUMINIO COMPRENDIDA ENTRE 3 Y 27 POR 100; DE 1,0 A 5,0 POR 100 DE CARBONO; DE 1,0 A 9,0 POR 100 DE SILICIO, Y DE 0,5 A 6,0 POR 100 DE MANGANESO, PUDIENDO AÑADIRSE OTROS ELEMENTOS COMO COBRE (0,4 A 3 POR 100), NIQUEL (1 A 8 POR 100) O CROMO (0,4 A 6 POR 100). EL ARRABIO BASICO SE TRATA EXCLUSIVAMENTE EN EL HORNO ELECTRICO, Y LA ADICION DE MN, C U, NI Y CR TIENE LUGAR GRADUALMENTE, DE ACUERDO CONUN ORDEN DE AFINIDAD DECRECIENTE HACIA EL CARBONO.
