Abstract

Switchgear with a contact arrangement which consists of a fixed U-shaped bent contact piece (1a, 1b) and a moveable contact piece (4), both having contact seats (2,5). In this contact arrangement, a sheet-iron shoe (8) is provided, having a C-shaped cross-section, the arms of which, with their ends, are bent in the direction of the contact point, starting from the side of the one U-limb of the contact piece (1a) remote from the contact seat (2), to be precise, such that the arms of the C (8) end outside the region of the contact seat (2) of the fixed contact part. This arrangement is particularly applicable in the case of power circuit breakers.
