CONSISTE EN POLIMERIZAR, EN SUSPENSION ACUOSA, ESTIRENO SOLO O MEZCLADO CON UNO O MAS COMONOMEROS COPOLIMERIZABLES CON EL ESTIRENO, EN PRESENCIA DE UN COMPUESTO HALOGENADO ORGANICO AUTOEXTINGUENTE Y DE 3-15% DE UN AGENTE EXPANSOR. LA REACCION DE POLIMERIZACION SE EFECTUA A UNA TEMPERATURA SUPERIOR A 80 C, EN PRESENCIA DE UN INICIADOR Y DE UN DERIVADO DE 2,4,6-TRIAMINO-1,3,5-TRIACINA, DE FORMULA (I), EN LA QUE AL MENOS UNO DE LOS RADICALES R<4-R<9 ES HIDROGENO Y LOS DEMAS PUEDEN SER DIVERSOS RADICALES. ESTOS MATERIALES TIENEN APLICACIONES PARA LA FABRICACION DE BLOQUES DE GRANDES DIMENSIONES, CON ALTO GRADO DE SINTERIZACION.
