SE PONE EL GAS ACIDO EN CONTACTO CON UNA CANTIDAD CONTROLADA DE OTRO GAS QUE CONTIENE OXIGENO LIBRE, PREFERENTEMENTE EN FORMA DE UNA MEZCLA, CON UN CATALIZADOR A BASE DE OXIDO DE TITANIO, A TEMPERATURAS COMPRENDIDAS ENTRE 100 C Y 600 C. EL CATALIZADOR ADEMAS DEL OXIDO DE TITANIO COMPRENDE UN SULFATO DE UN METAL ALCALINO-TERREO ELEGIDO DEL GRUPO FORMADO POR EL CALCIO, EL ESTRONCIO, EL BARIO Y EL MAGNESIO.
