CONSISTE EN EL TRATAMIENTO DE UNA DISOLUCION ACUOSA DE LA AMIDA D-ALFA-AMINOACIDO CON 3 A 6 ATOMOS DE CARBONO CON UNA PREPARACION QUE CONTIENE AMINOACILAMILASA OBTENIDA A PARTIR DE UN CULTIVO DE RHODOCOCCUS ERYTHROPOLIS O UN MUTANTE DEL MISMO, EN FORMA DE CELULAS HUMEDAS, INMOVILIZADO EN UN PORTADOR ADECUADO; SEGUIDA DE LA RECUPERACION DEL ALFA-AMINOACIDO A PARTIR DEL HIDROLIZADO SIGUIENDO METODOS CONVENCIONALES. LA HIDROLISIS SE LLEVA A CABO EN UN MEDIO DE PH ENTRE 6 Y 10, A UNA TEMPERATURA COMPRENDIDA ENTRE 20JC Y 45JC. ESTOS D-ALFA-AMINOACIDOS TIENEN APLICACIONES COMO INTERMEDIOS EN LA SINTESIS DE PRODUCTOS FARMACEUTICOS Y HERBICIDAS.
