Abstract

The recorder switching system switches a video or tape recorder on and off automatically for a selected programme. Each broadcasting channel and programme has its own recognition signal. The time the programme is scheduled to start is contained in its recognition signal. The subscriber sets a counter to this time. - When the recognition signal for the channel and programme match the counter, the recorder is automatically switched on. The programme recognition signal lasts for the whole of the programme and changes for the following programme so that at the end of the required programme the recorder is switched off. This system may also include the data and record a series of programmes.
