Abstract

The yarn passes over a pref. cranked arm connected to a rotatable shaft, which is provided with a spring biassing it to rotate against the action of the yarn. The shaft carries a cam so that when the yarn tension decreases the shaft rotates under the action of the spring and causes a first surface on the cam to actuate the stop motion. Badly wound yarn packages due to an increased yarn tension are eliminated.
