Abstract

Anti-corrosion agent Consists of a tannic acid base with a chelating catalyst and a preservative. Chelating catalyst may be an organic polycarboxylic acid, an amino-acid, or a Lewis acid. Preservative is formaldehyde, a dialdehyde such as glyoxal, or a diamine. Product protects iron surfaces against rust by formation of a chelate with the tannic acid.
