Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé et un appareil de prolongation de la longévité d'une electrode à partir de laquelle un arc est entretenu. L'électrode est entourée par un enroulement de champ dans laquelle circule un courant continu dont l'intensité oscille de +- 60%, à une fréquence comprise entre 5 x 10**-1 et 1 x 10**-4Hz. L'invention s'applique notamment à des canons à plasma.
