Abstract

Procédé et dispositif permettant d'effectuer, à l'aide d'une instruction unique, des opérations sur des champs de bits A,B,C,D,E de longueurs variables contenues en mémoire dans des groupes de données adressables (multiplets 1000, 1001, 1002, 1003, 1004, 1005), les limites des champs de bits étant indépendantes des limites en mémoire des groupes de données. Des moyens combinent une première valeur représentant l'adresse de base d'un groupe de données à une deuxième valeur représentant le déplacement d'un champ de bits par rapport à cette de base. Des moyens d'adressage sont commandés par l'adresse ainsi formée et par une troisième valeur représentant la longueur du champ de bits. L'invention assure l'optimisation de l'emmagasinage ou du chargement de champs de bits de largeurs arbitraires sans considération des limites des groupes de données adressables en mémoire.
