Abstract

La présente invention a pour objet un matériau composite comprenant une structure de fibres de cellulose, un matériau polymère distribué régulièrement dans cette structure est constitué par des fibres ou particules solides et discrètes, dont la surface au moins comprend un polymère de synthèse solide, non-collant à la température ambiante et capable de former un film à plus de 80 degrés C, ces particules ou fibres de matériau polymère étant liées au matériau composite au moyen d'un polyélectrolyte et, éventuellement, un matériau mineral sous forme de particules ou fibres de métal ou de minéral. Elle est caractérisée en ce que l'on prépare ce matériau en faisant cofloculer le matériau polymère, éventuellement le matériau minéral, avec de la pulpe de fibres de cellulose au moyen d'un polyélectrolyte, puis en éliminant l'eau de la suspension résultante sur une machine à fabriquer du papier. Un tel produit est transformé en produit fini par traitement chaud, éventuellement sous pression.
