Abstract

L'invention concerne les circuits de commande pour lampes à éclair à décharge directement reliées à une source de courant alternatif. Suivant l'invention, un circuit multiplicateur de tension, tel qu'un doubleur, est relié aux bornes de la lampe pour appliquer à cette dernière une,tension supérieure à celle que fournit la source de courant, de manière à faciliter l'amorçage de l'arc. Selon une forme de réalisation, le circuit multiplicateur comprend une première diode 27 disposée en série avec la lampe 10, un condensateur 29 en parallèle avec la diode 27 et une seconde diode 31 disposée en parallèle avec la lampe 10. Les cathodes des diodes 27 et 31 sont reliées entre elles de telle sorte que dès l'amorçage de l'arc la diode 27 relie directement la lampe 10 à la source 12-16 pendant une demi-période de polarité donnée et coupe le circuit pendant l'autre demi-période.
