Abstract
Selon l'invention, des impuretés de magnésium et d'aluminium peuvent être séparées d'un acide phosphorique obtenu par voie humide, en ajoutant un donneur d'ion fluorore tel que l'acide fluorhydrique, par exemple, afin de fournir ainsi environ 4 ions fluorure par ion aluminium. De préférence, un donneur d'ion aluminium, tel qu'un alun, est ajouté à l'acide obtenu par voie humide pour porter le rapport ion aluminium/ion magnésium jusqu'à 2/1 environ, afin de faciliter la formation de composés cristallins ayant la stoechiométrie générale MgAl2 F8 . L'acide, de qualité filtre, traité, est alors transféré dans un cristallisoir pour former de gros cristaux qui précipitent facilement, de telle sorte que la phase liquide purifiée, contenant peu d'impuretés de magnésium et d'aluminium, peut être séparée de la phase cristalline.
