Abstract
L'invention concerne une méthode de sondage pour fibres optiques. Une impulsion de lumière polarisée est injectée dans une fibre, s'y propage, est réfléchie par un défaut éventuel dans la longueur de la fibre et renvoyée sur un récepteur, la mesure du temps qui s'est écoulé à partir de l'injection permettant de localiser le défaut, la lumière parasite réfléchie sur la face avant de la fibre étant envoyée sur un piège à lumière grâce à l'obliquité de cette face avant. Application à la maintenance des systèmes de télécommunications à fibres optiques.
