Procédé et dispositif pour la détection, dans un produit divisé constitué d'objets ou de particules de couleur et d'aspect de surface sensiblement identiques et défilant en continu sur un transporteur, de corps étrangers de couleur et/ou d'aspect de surface différents de ceux desdits objets ou particules. L'invention est remarquable en ce que l'on agence ledit transporteur pour que sa face sur laquelle reposent lesdits objets ou particules et lesdits corps étrangers soit de couleur et d'aspect de surface sensiblement identiques à ceux desdits objets ou particules et en ce que, au-dessus de ladite face du transporteur, on agence au moins un émetteur et au moins un récepteur infrarouge commandant au moins un dispositif d'aiguillage desdits objets, particules ou corps étrangers.
