Abstract

La présente invention est relative à des éléments à base de fils d'acier pour le renforcement de compositions de caoutchouc du type auquel on se réfère, caractérisés en ce que le fil d'acier est muni d'un revêtement adhésif comprenant un alliage de laiton contenant de 58 à 75 % en cuivre et du nickel en une quantité suffisante pour améliorer l'adhérence entre le fil d'acier revêtu et la composition de caoutchouc. Ces fils d'acier sont notamment mis sous forme de câbles destinés à renforcer des pneumatiques, des courroies transporteuses, de transmission ou des tuyaux.
