A printing-frame may also be combined with the apparatus. The exposed film is drawn from a reel n into a dark box a, where its end is attached to a cross-bar e<4> of a wheel mounted inside the dark box so that it can be turned by an external crank f<2>. The black covering-paper n<2> of the film is led back over a roller m' and out through a slit in the box m. The wheel is turned till the film is wound round its whole circumference, when it is clipped by two levers l, which are liberated when the end of a holding-back lever l<2> strikes against a stop. A knife p is then pushed down to cut off the length of film wound on the wheel. The developing or other solution is placed in a dish k, which can be raised by a parallel linkage to act on the film after the sliding partition b has been removed. Non-actinic windows j<1> and reflectors are used to examine the film during development &c. For the reel box m, a reel box combined with a printing-frame may be substituted.
