Claims (9)
- Procédé permettant de prolonger le temps-ouvert d'une composition de revêtement aqueuse, ledit procédé comprenant le fait de combiner un polymère de latex ayant un premier groupe réactif avec un composé modificateur ayant un deuxième groupe réactif, le premier et le deuxième groupes réactifs étant à même de réagir pour former une liaison covalente ou ionique.
- Procédé selon la revendication 1, dans lequel le composé modificateur a une concentration de 0,1 à 10 % en poids de solides sur base du poids total de solides du polymère de latex dans la composition de revêtement aqueuse.
- Procédé selon la revendication 1 ou 2, dans lequel le composé modificateur est un composé amphiphile qui comprend une partie hydrophobe avec au moins 4 atomes de carbone.
- Procédé selon la revendication 3, dans lequel le composé amphiphile a un poids moléculaire moyen en poids inférieur à 10.000.
- Procédé selon la revendication 3 ou 4, dans lequel les groupes réactifs du polymère de latex et du composé amphiphile constituent une paire ionisable sélectionnée dans le groupe comprenant des atomes à charges positive et négative, ainsi que des acides et des bases.
- Procédé selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 4, dans lequel le premier et le deuxième groupes réactifs du polymère de latex et du composé modificateur sont à même de se lier par covalence et sont sélectionnés dans le groupe suivant : acétoacétate-aldéhyde, acétoacétate-amine, amine-aldéhyde, amine-anhydride, amine-isocyanate, amine-époxy, aldéhyde-hydrazide, acide-époxy, acide-carbodiimide, acide-chloro méthyl ester, acide-chloro méthyl amide, acide-anhydride, acide-aziridine, époxy-mercaptan et isocyanate-alcool.
- Procédé selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 5, dans lequel le polymère de latex comprend 0,5 à 10 %, de préférence 0,5 à 5 %, en poids de la composition totale, d'un groupe acide ionisable.
- Procédé selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, dans lequel le polymère de latex est sélectionné parmi les latex polymères acryliques, styrène acryliques, de styrène-butadiène et d'acétate vinylique.
- Procédé selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, dans lequel le polymère de latex a une taille moyenne de particules de 30 à 800 nanomètres, de préférence de 90 à 500 nanomètres.
