Abstract

1,215,049. Collapsible boxes; load-handling pallet. VEREINIGTE DEUTSCHE METALLWERKE A.G. 12 Sept., 1968 [16 Sept. 1967; 6 Oct., 1967], No. 43516/68. Headings B8H and B8P In a collapsible box having walls 1, 4 each hinged to a base 14 to pivot outwardly, a catch in the wall 1 holds the adjacent wall 4 so that a right angled, outwardly directed, side strip or projection 10 is held in a channel shaped part 5, Fig. 2, of wall 1 or in a recess 9, Fig. 5, in a right-angled side strip 8 of wall 1. The catches can be in the form of an inwardly angled tongue 11 which may be semicircular, or of a wedge (7), Fig. 3 (not shown). The box can have projections 15, Fig. 7, in its base 14, and 19 in its sides between which bottles &c (20), Fig. 8 (not shown), can be located. These projections are hollow and consequently allow stacking of the collapsed boxes. The projections also have apertures 18 which facilitate separation of the collapsed boxes and allow a rod 21, Fig. 9, on a pallet 22 to engage the stack. [GB1215049A]
