Abstract
A herbal sachet is provided which comprises a water-permeable sachet including a blend of herbs in an amount effective to improve the condition of a human's body including skin, hair and feet. In one embodiment, namely for improving the condition of the facial skin, when the sachet is brought into contact with hot water, the contents of the sachet absorb the water and the steam rising from the water contacts the facial skin resulting in an improvement of skin's conditions.
Description
HERBAL SACHETS
The present invention relates to herbal sachets.
Certain herbs are known to have the beneficial effects of soothing and refreshing the skin and/or eyes. Herbal extracts are included in low concentrations in creams, lotions and gels for cosmetic purposes. However, such compositions do not include a blend of the herbs themselves.
The present invention seeks to provide sachets of herbal blends for use in improving the facial appearance and having a soothing therapeutic effect on tired eyes and for use as conditioning hair rinses and for soothing and relaxing the human body including the feet.
The present invention provides a herbal sachet for external application to the human body, comprising a water-permeable sachet including a blend of herbs in an amount effective to result in a soothing, relaxing effect on the human body including improving the condition of the facial skin and hair.
Advantageously, blend of herbs in an amount effective to improve the condition of a human's facial skin whereby when the sachet is brought into contact with hot water, contents of the sachet absorb the water and steam rising from the water contacts the facial skin resulting in an improvement of skin's condition.
The facial appearance is improved when steam rising from a bowl containing a herbal sachet in accordance with the invention, onto which hot water has been poured, contacts the facial skin and cleanses the pores of the skin leaving ί

it refreshed and having a healthy appearance.
Ideally, the blend of herbs in an amount effective to result in a therapeutic, soothing effect on tired and/or sore human eye(s) when contents of the herbal sachet have absorbed water and the sachet is placed over the eye(s).
In an alternative embodiment, the blend of herbs in an amount effective to result in a therapeutic effect on the human body whereby when the contents of the sachet are allowed infuse in water and said water is then brought into contact with the human body, the contents of the sachets provide a soothing, refreshing effect on the body including a healthy lustre appearance on the hair.
The the herbal sachet for application to the eyes and body, includes chamomile in a range from 0.25g to 2.25g per sachet.
The herbal sachet for application to the eyes also includes eyebright in a range from 0.25g to 1g per sachet.
The herbal sachet for improving the condition of a human's facial skin includes any one or more selected from the following group:
lemon balm, lavender, lemon peel, rosemary and dandelion root. The herb(s) is/are included in the sachet in the following ranges :
lemon balm 0.20g to 0.62g; lavender 0.29g to 0.89g; lemon peel 0.5g to 1.5g; rosemary 0.36g to 1.1g; dandelion root 0.1 5g to 0.45g.
The herbal sachet for use as a conditioning hair rinse comprising any one or more selected from the following group:
chamomile, lemon peel, white willow bark, flax seed, rosemary, sage, raspberry leaf. The herbal sachet includes the herbs in the following ranges:
chamomile 0.37g to 1.13g; lemon peel 0.37g to 1.13g; white willow bark 0.25g to 1.13g; flax seed 0.25g to 1.13g; rosemary 0.37g to 1.13g; sage 0.37g to 1.13g; raspberry leaf 0.25g to 1.75g.
The herbal sachet for use as a herbal bath sachet comprises any one or more selected from the following group:
chamomile, lime flower, hypericum, rosemary, thyme, lavender, catnip, meadowsweet, calendula red clover penny royal and peppermint. The herbal sachet includes the herb(s) in the following ranges:
chamomile 0.25g to 1.5g; lime flower 0.5g to 1.5g; hypericum 0.5g to 1.5g; rosemary 0.5g to 1.5g; thyme 0.5g to 1.5g; lavender 0.25g to 1.5g; catnip 0.5g to 1.5g; meadowsweet 0.5g to 1.5g; hypericum 0.5g to 1.5g; calendula 0.5g to 1.5g; red clover 0.5g to 135g; penny royal 0.62g to 1. 9g; peppermint 0.37g to 1.13g.
The herbal sachet for use as herbal sachet for feet comprising any one or more selected from the following group:
sage, thyme, lavender, marjoram, sea salt and mustard seed. The herbal sachet wherein the herb(s) is/are included in the following ranges:
sage 0.1 2g to 0.38g; thyme 0.1 2g to 0.38g; lavender 0.12g to 0.38g; marjoram 0.5g to 1.5g; sea slat 0.62g to 1.9g; mustard seed 0.75g to 2.25g; lavender 0.75g to 2.25g.
Ideally, an essential oil is included which is selected from one or more of the following group:
essential oil of lavender, essential oil of lemon, essential oil of rosemary, essential oil of geranium, essential oil of pine, essential oil of peppermint and essential oil of thyme.
The invention will now be described more particularly with reference to the following Examples which described by way of example only, four embodiments of the present invention.
Example 1 : Eve compress herbal sachet
The herbal sachet of this embodiment of the invention comprises a blend of herbs and essential oil

The herbs and essential oil are weighed out in the appropriate amounts and blended together. The blend is transferred to a water-permeable sachet and the sachet is heat sealed.
To use the eye compress herbal sachets, two sachets are placed on a saucer and two tablespoons of boiling water are poured onto them and the sachets are allowed to sit in the water for five to ten minutes until they have absorbed the water and have cooled. The excess water is gently squeezed out and a sachet is placed over each of a user's closed eyes while the user relaxes for ten to fifteen minutes.
The herbal blend has the effect of soothing the eyes.
Example 2 - Alternative embodiment of the eye compress herbal sachet

The sachets are used in the same manner as described in Example 1.
Example 3 - Alternative embodiment of the herbal sachet of the invention
Facial steamer herbal sachet
The herbs and essential oil are weighed out in the appropriate amounts and blended together. The blend is transferred to a water-permeable sachet and the sachet is heat sealed.

To use the sachet to best advantage, the user firstly cleanses his face. A sachet is then placed in a bowl and approximately 1/2 litre of boiling water poured over it. The user leans over the bowl with a towel over his head, while ensuring that he does not come into contact with the boiling water. The steam rising from the bowl opens the pores of the user's skin allowing the full benefits of the herbs to penetrate and deep cleanse the skin. After 10 to 15 minutes the user's skin is cleansed and feels fresh and glowing.

These rinses have been designed for use after shampooing to give lustre and body to the hair while holding the hair style. The herbs and essential oils result in highlights and leave the hair fresh and sweetly perfumed.
To use the conditioning hair rinse sachets, before shampooing the hair, the user places a sachet in a jug filled with boiling water and allows an infusion period of at least 10 minutes, the contents of the jug are then
V topped up with 125ml of cool water. After shampooing the hair in the normal way, the user towel dries the hair and pours the conditioning rinse from the jug through the hair and does not rinse it off. The user then dries the hair as usual.

or 2 sachets are used depending on the volume of the bath water. The sachet is added to the water while the bath water is running and is is allows to remain in the water for the duration of the bath. The sachets include various blends for soothing, relaxing, toning, antiseptic and healing.

To use the herb foot sachets, the sachet is allowed soak in a bowl of warm water into which the feet are then inserted or alternatively, the sachet may be used with a foot spa.
It will of course be understood that the invention is not limited to the specific details described herein, which are given by way of example only, and that various modifications and alterations are possible within the scope of the invention as defined in the appended claims.
Claims (17)
1. A herbal sachet for external application to the human body, comprising a water-permeable sachet including a blend of herbs in an amount effective to result in a soothing, relaxing effect on the human body including improving the condition of the facial skin and hair.
2. A herbal sachet as claimed in claim 1, including a blend of herbs in an amount effective to improve the condition of a human's facial skin whereby when the sachet is brought into contact with hot water, contents of the sachet absorb the water and steam rising from the water contacts the facial skin resulting in an improvement of skin's condition.
3. A herbal sachet as claimed in claim 1, including a blend of herbs in an amount effective to result in a therapeutic, soothing effect on tired and/or sore human eye(s) when contents of the herbal sachet have absorbed water and the sachet is placed over the eye(s).
4. A herbal sachet as claimed in claim 1 including a blend of herbs in an amount effective to result in a therapeutic effect on the human body whereby when the contents of the sachet are allowed infuse in water and said water is then brought into contact with the human body, the contents of the sachets provide a soothing, refreshing effect on the body including a healthy lustre appearance on the hair.
5. A herbal sachet as claimed in claim 3 or 4 which includes chamomile in a range from 0.25g to 2.25g per sachet.
6. A herbal sachet as claimed in claim 3 including eyebright in a range from 0.25g to 1g per sachet.
7. A herbal sachet as claimed in claim 2 including any one or more selected from the following group: lemon balm, lavender, lemon peel, rosemary and dandelion root.
8. A herbal sachet as claimed in claim 7, wherein herb(s) is/are included in the sachet in the following ranges: lemon balm 0.20g to 0.62g; lavender 0.29g to 0.89g; lemon peel 0.5g to 1.5g; rosemary 0.36g to 1.1g; dandelion root 0.15g to 0.45g.
9. A herbal sachet as claimed in claim 4 for use as a conditioning hair rinse comprising any one or more selected from the following group: chamomile, lemon peel, white willow bark, flax seed, rosemary, sage, raspberry leaf.
10. A herbal sachet as claimed in claim 9 wherein the herb(s) is/are included in the following ranges: chamomile 0.37g to 1.13g; lemon peel 0.37g to 1.13g; white willow bark 0.25g to 1.13g; flax seed 0.25g to 1.13g; rosemary 0.37g to 1.13g; sage 0.37g to 1.13g; raspberry leaf 0.25g to 0.75g.
11. A herbal sachet as claimed in claim 4 for use as a herbal bath sachet comprising any one or more selected from the following group: chamomile, lime flower, hypericum, rosemary, thyme, lavender, catnip, meadowsweet, calendula red clover penny royal and peppermint.

A herbal sachet as claimed in claim 11, wherein the herb(s) is/are included in the following ranges: chamomile 0.25g to 1.5g; lime flower 0.5g to 1.5g; hypericum 0.5g to 1.5g; rosemary 0.5g to 1.5g; thyme 0.5g to 1.5g; lavender 0.25g to 1.5g; catnip 0.5g to 1.5g; meadowsweet 0.5g to 1.5g; hypericum 0.5g to 1.5g; calendula 0.5g to 1.5g; red clover 0.5g to 1.5g; penny royal 0.62g to 1.9g; peppermint 0.37g to 1.13g.
13. A herbal sachet as claimed in claim 4 for use as herbal sachet for feet comprising any one or more selected from the following group: sage, thyme, lavender, marjoram, sea salt and mustard seed.
14. A herbal sachet as claimed in claim 13 wherein the herb(s) is/are included in the following ranges: sage 0.12g to 0.38g; thyme 0.12g to 0.38g; lavender 0.12g to 0.38g; marjoram 0.5g to 1.5g; sea salt 0.62g to 1.9g; mustard seed 0.75g to 2.25g; lavender 0.75g to 2.25g.
15. A herbal sachet as claimed in any one of the preceding claims, wherein one or more essential oil(s) are included in the herbal sachets.
16. A herbal sachet as claimed in claim 14 wherein the essential oil is selected from one or more of the following group: essential oil of lavender, essential oil of lemon, essential oil of rosemary, essential oil of geranium, essential oil of pine, essential oil of peppermint and essential oil of thyme.
17. A herbal sachet substantially in accordance with any of the embodiments herein described in the Examples.
