Abstract

An office buildig construction (10) comprises a floor area (9) defined by front (11) and rear (14, 15, 16, 17, 18) and left (12) and right side walls (13). The rear wall has a concave external face defining a pair annexes (20, 21) disposed adjacent respective left and right side walls. At least one of the annexes includes means for communicating (22, 23, 24) between said floor area and other floor areas. The remainder of the floor area includes a plurality of workstation modules (W) disposed adjacent said front wall.

Description

The present invention relates to an office building construction.

According to the present invention there is provided an office building construction comprising a floor area defined by front and rear and left and right side walls, said rear wall having a concave external face defining a pair annexes disposed adjacent respective left and right side walls, at least one of which annexes including means for communicating between said floor area and other floor areas, the remainder of said floor area including a plurality of workstation modules disposed adjacent said front wall.

Preferably, a corridor runs between said workstation modules and said communication means.

An embodiment of the invention will now be described, by way of example, with reference to the accompanying drawing which is a plan view of an office building construction according to the invention.

Referring now to the drawing, there is shown an office building construction generally indicated at 10 according to the invention. The office building 10 comprises a floor area 9 defined by a front, left and right side walls 11, 12 and 13 respectively. A rear wall 14 projects from the left side wall 12 and runs parallel to the front wall 11 to approximately mid-way between the side walls 12 and 13. The rear wall 14 intersects a wall 15 running substantially parallel to the side walls 12 and 13 to approximately mid-way between the front and rear walls 11 and 14. The wall 15 intersects a wall 16 running parallel to the front wall 11 and the wall 16 in turn intersects a wall 17 which runs parallel to the side walls 12 and 13. The wall 17 intersects a rear wall 18 which joins with the right side wall 13.

The walls 15, 16 and 17 define a concave area 19 which separates two annexes 20 and 21 of the floor area 9. The first annex 20 includes a stairwell 22 adjoining a pair of lift shafts 23. The second annex 21 includes a stairwell 24 located adjacent the rear wall 18.

A plurality of workstation groups 25 are located adjacent the front wall 11. Each workstation group 25 comprises six workstation modules W, defined by parallel spaced partition members 26 and 27 which traverse a central partition member 28.

The remainder of the floor area 9 is occupied by offices 29, with each of the offices 29, workstation modules W and stairwells 22 and 24 communicating with one another through a corridor 30 running the length of the floor area 9 from the left to the right side wall.

Claims (3)

CLAIMS:

1. An office building construction comprising a floor area defined by front and rear and left and right side walls, said rear wall having a concave external face defining a pair annexes disposed adjacent respective left and right side walls, at least one of which annexes including means for communicating between said floor area and other floor areas, the remainder of said floor area including a plurality of workstation modules disposed adjacent said front wall.

2. An office building construction as claimed in Claim 1, wherein a corridor runs between said workstation modules and said communication means.

3. An office building construction substantially as hereinbefore described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
