Apparecchiatura per generare impulsi luminosi ad alta potenza in cui viene utilizzato un circuito ottico formato da una fibra ottica contenente una terra rara. Nel circuito ottico, un cordone selezionato tra una molteplicità di cordoni di fibra ottica aventi lunghezze diverse viene inserito per modificare la lunghezza complessiva del circuito ottico e quindi si ottiene dal circuito un impulso luminoso di differente ampiezza.
