Abstract

/di PET composti da una pluralità di singoli filamenti continui e sostanzialmente stirati completamente vengono realizzati mediante filatura per estrusione e stiratura in un processo integrale comprendente: (a) estrudere simultaneamente i filamenti singoli per formare almeno otto trefoli di filamenti continui di almeno circa dieci filamenti per la solidificazione di detti filamenti; (b) disporre i filamenti per formare una disposizione piana di trefoli paralleli e mutuamente distanziati; (c) pre - stirare insieme i filamenti facendo passare i trefoli in contatto di attrito con porzioni di superfici periferiche di un primo e di un secondo cilindro di stiro rotanti aventi assi di rotazione paralleli ed azionati a velocità diverse per ottenere un tasso di pre - stiro compreso fra circa il 5 e circa il 20% dello stato completamente stirato, ciascun trefolo passando sulle porzioni di superficie lungo un percorso discreto che è definito da un piano che interseca perpendicolarmente gli assi di rotazione dei cilindri di stiro; (d) applicare continuamente un lubrificante acquoso avente una temperatura di almeno circa 50°C per produrre un velo continuo di lubrificante su ciascun filamento; ed (e) far passare i trefoli in contatto con le porzioni di superfici periferiche di almeno due ulteriori cilindri di stiro rotanti aventi assi di rotazione paralleli al primo e al secondo cilindro di stiro rotanti e operanti a velocità diverse per ottenere uno stiramento completo dei filamenti.
