Abstract

Si descrive un nuovo mutante di Pseudomonas fluorescens, depositato presso NCIMB con il numero 4Ø531, capace di convertire i metilnaftaleni (I) nei corrispondenti cis-1,2-diidrossi-1,2-diidrometilnaftaleni (Il) e/o in idrossimetilnaftaleni (III) attraverso due diverse vie metaboliche in funzione delle condizioni di crescita e di conversione. Si descrive, inoltre, un procedimento per la produzione dei composti di formula (II) e/o (III) mediante conversione di un composto di formula (III) che utilizza detto mutante.I composti di formula (II) e (III) sono utili per la preparazione di poliesteri.
