Abstract

Un contatto impiantabile per l'uso in pacemakers cardiaci, defribillatori ed altri dispositivi elettrici impiantabili a lungo termine con lo scopo di misurazione o stimolazione dei tessuti, avente un conduttore avvolto elicoidalmente con uno strato isolante tubolare che lo circonda di materiale elastomerico quale silicone o poliuretano ed uno strato biocompatibile esterno tubolare coassiale addizionale di PTFE poroso avente una microstruttura di nodi interconnessi da fibrille. Lo strato tubolare esterno di PTFE poroso può essere inserito coassialmente sullo strato tubolare elastomerico per la quale cosa lo strato tubolare di PTFE poroso si trova in compressione longitudinale e le fibrille nella microstruttura hanno un aspetto piegato ed increspato. Qualsiasi porzione della lunghezza del tubo di Ptfe poroso in compressione longitudinale permette che la porzione della lunghezza del cavo di contatto sia estensibile ad un'estensione controllata alimentata dall'allungamento delle fibrille piegate nella microstruttura del PTFE poroso.
