Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate fixture positioning and replacing work by forming an opening at a fixture, and providing an engaging part on an inner surface opposed to a front wheel shaft in constitution of fitting a footstep into a specified position of the front wheel shaft of a man conveyor through the fixture. SOLUTION: A footstep for an escalator is fitted to a front wheel shaft 40 through a fixture 50. A slit-like opening 50a is formed on one side of the fixture 50, a groove 50b is formed at a flange part in a position on the opposite side to the opening 50a in order to easily expand the opening part 50a. A protrusion 50c is formed as an engaging part on the inner surface of the fixture 50 so as to be engageable into a groove 40a formed at the front wheel shaft 40. When the fixture 50 is fitted to the front wheel shaft 40, it can thereby be accurately positioned. With the fixture 50 thus constituted, the fixture 50 can be attached to and detached from the front wheel shaft 40 extremely easily by an opening/closing lever mechanism to improve replacement workability.

In the figure, reference numeral 50a denotes an opening provided in the fixing device 50, for example, such that the opening of the cylindrical fixing device 50 is opened, and the opening is formed on the outer periphery opposite to the opening 50a. A groove 50b is provided so as to be easily opened.

On the inner surface of the fixture 50, for example, a projection 50c is provided. On the other hand, the front wheel axle 40 is provided with a groove 40a, and the projection 50c of the fixture 50 is provided in the groove 40a of the front wheel axle 40. The fixture 50 is attached to the front wheel axle 40 so as to be fitted and accurately positioned.

The engagement relationship between the fixing device 50 and the front wheel shaft 40 may be such that the protrusions and the grooves are provided in reverse to engage with each other, and are not limited to the embodiment. Such a fixing tool can be made of various materials such as nylon resin.

With such a fixing device 50, as shown in FIG. 4, the fixing device 50 can be attached to and detached from the front wheel axle 40 while the step chain 2 and the front wheel 3 are attached to the front wheel axle 40. The opening / closing lever mechanism 6 can perform the operation very easily, and can greatly reduce the labor for replacing the fixing device. It is obvious that the present invention can be applied not only to the escalator but also to the structure of the steps of the moving sidewalk.

As described above, according to the present invention, even if the fixing device must be replaced due to aging, only the fixing device can be replaced very easily.

A step in which a step is attached to a predetermined position of a front wheel shaft of a man conveyor via a fixing device, wherein the fixing device has an opening, and an engaging portion is provided on an inner surface facing the front wheel shaft.
