- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.触媒及び溶媒をもつ少なくとも1の反応器の少なくとも1の反応器流中でオ レフィンモノマーを重合する溶液重合系であって、該系が: (A)少なくとも1の反応器を形成する少なくとも1のフローループ、ここ で少なくとも1の反応器は反応器容積をもち、且つ少なくとも1のフロールー プは: (1)少なくとも1の生成物出口、 (2)触媒がそこを通って少なくとも1のフローループに流れる少なくとも 1の触媒入口、 (3)モノマーがそこを通って少なくとも1のフローループに流れ且つ触媒 及び溶媒と共に反応流を形成する少なくとも1のモノマー入口、 (4)反応流及びそこで形成されたポリマーを受け入れ且つ少なくとも1の フローループから反応又は重合熱を除く少なくとも1の熱交換装置、及び (5)少なくとも1のフローループの周りの反応流及びポリマーをポンピン グするための少なくとも1のポンプ装置、を持つ、 (B)少なくとも1の生成物出口を通って少なくとも1のフローループが出 ていく反応流及びポリマーの1部、及び (C)ポリマー及び反応流から少なくとも85Btu/時・立方フィート・ °F(1.6kW/m3・°K)の速度で反応又は重合熱を除く少なくとも1 の熱交換装置、 からなることを特徴とする溶液重合系。 2.熱交換装置が少なくとも400Btu/時・立方フィート・°F(7.4k W/m3・°K)の速度で熱を除く請求項1の溶液重合系。 3.熱交換装置が少なくとも600Btu/時・立方フィート・°F(11.2 kW/m3・°K)の速度で熱を除く請求項1の溶液重合系。 4.熱交換装置が第1熱交換器をもち、該第1熱交換器が熱交換媒体を通すハウ ジング及び反応液とポリマーが流れる複数の静止ミキサー熱交換チューブをも ち、反応流とポリマーは第1熱交換器から出てさらにそこを通って移動するた め少なくとも1のフローループへと流れる請求項1記載の溶液重合系。 5.さらに反応流とポリマーを受け入れ且つ反応器流から反応又は重合熱を除く ため少なくととも1のフローループ上に少なくとも1の追加の熱交換器をもち 、そしてポンプ装置が反応流とポリマーを生成物出口にポンピングし、ポリマ ーと反応流の1部が生成物出口から流れ出て、反応流とポリマーの1部が少な くとも1のフローループを通って循環する請求項4の溶液重合系。 6.反応流の流れが実質上層流である請求項1の溶液重合系。 7.反応流の流れのレイノルズ数が2200以下である請求項6の溶液重合系。 8.さらに、少なくとも1のモノマー入口が少なくとも1の触媒入口の下流に位 置する1のモノマー入口をもつ請求項1の溶液重合系。 9.熱交換装置が第1熱交換器と少なくとも1の追加の熱交換器をもち、さらに 該系が第1熱交換器上に1の触媒入口と1のモノマー入口をもち、第1熱交換 器から反応流とポリマーを少なくとも1の追加の熱交換器にポンピングするポ ンプ装置をもつ請求項8の溶液重合系。 10.さらに、少なくとも1の触媒入口と少なくとも1のモノマー入口の間に、反 応器液用に、少なくとも1のフローループ内に配した少なくとも1の静止ミキ サーをもつ請求項1の溶液重合系。 11.さらに、少なくとも1のモノマー入口と少なくとも1の熱交換装置の間に、 反応液を混合するために、少なくとも1のフローループ内に配した少なくとも 1の静止ミキサーをもつ請求項1の溶液重合系。 12.さらに、少なくとも1のモノマー入口と流体連絡して少なくとも1のフロー ループ内にモノマーインゼクターをもつ請求項1の溶液重合系。 13.モノマーインゼクターが中空入口及び中空入口と流体連絡している複数の間 隔のあいた中空アームをもつ中空体をもち、複数の中空アームの各々がモノマ ーがそこを通って少なくとも1のフローループに流れる複数の間隔のあいた流 体出口ポートをもつ請求項12の溶液重合系。 14.さらに、少なくとも1の触媒入口の下流に配した少なくとも1のモノマー入 口をもつ請求項13の溶液重合系。 15.溶媒が触媒と共に少なくとも1の触媒入口を通って少なくとも1のフロール ープに流れる請求項1の溶液重合系。 16.溶媒がモノマーと共に少なくとも1のモノマー入口を通って少なくとも1の フローループに流れる請求項1の溶液重合系。 17.さらに、触媒と溶媒が触媒インゼクターを通って少なくとも1のフロールー プに流れるように少なくとも1の触媒入口と流体連通しているフローループ内 の触媒インゼクターをもつ請求項1の溶液重合系。 18.さらに、触媒インゼクターが溶媒入口をもつ本体、溶媒が溶媒入口と流体連 通して流れる混合領域、触媒を混合領域に導入しうる触媒ポート、及び混合し た触媒と溶媒を少なくとも1のフローループに流す出口とをもつ請求項17の 溶液重合系。 19.反応流とポリマーが実質上単一液相溶液として維持される請求項1の溶液重 合系。 20.少なくとも1のフローループが1m3以上のフローループ容積をもちそして ポリマーが少なくとも0.7ポンド/時/ガロン(フローループ容積)の速度 で生成する請求項1の溶液重合系。 21.少なくとも1のフローループが1m3以上のフローループ容積をもちそして ポリマーが少なくとも5ポンド/時/ガロン(フローループ容積)の速度で生 成する請求項1の溶液重合系。 22.少なくとも1のフローループが1m3以上のフローループ容積をもちそして ポリマーが少なくとも12ポンド/時/ガロン(フローループ容積)の速度で 生成する請求項1の溶液重合系。 23.少なくとも1のフローループが1m3以上のフローループ容積をもちそして ポリマーが少なくとも15ポンド/時/ガロン(フローループ容積)の速度で 生成する請求項1の溶液重合系。 24.ポリマーが50以下のリサイクル比で生成する請求項1の溶液重合系。 25.ポリマーが25以下のリサイクル比で生成する請求項1の溶液重合系。 26.ポリマーが15以下のリサイクル比で生成する請求項1の溶液重合系。 27.ポリマーが10以下のリサイクル比で生成する請求項1の溶液重合系。 28.ポリマーがポリエチレンである請求項1の溶液重合系。 29.触媒が均一系触媒及び不均一系触媒からなる群から選択される請求項26の 溶液重合系。 30.停止剤が少なくとも1のモノマー入口から導入される請求項1の溶液重合系 。 31.停止剤が水素である請求項30の溶液重合系。 32.滞留時間が12分以下である請求項1の溶液重合系。 33.触媒及び溶媒をもつ2以上の反応器の反応器流中でオレフィンを重合する溶 液重合系であって、該系が; (A)第1反応器を形成する第1フローループ、ここで第1反応器は第1反応 器容積をもち、且つ、第1フローループは; (i)少なくとも1の第1生成物出口、 (ii)触媒がそこを通って第1フローループに流れる少なくとも1の第1触媒 入口、 (iii)モノマーがそこを通って第1フローループに流れ且つ触媒及び溶媒と共 に第1反応流を形成する少なくとも1の第1モノマー入口、 (iv)第1反応流及びそこで形成された第1ポリマーを受け入れ且つ第1フロ ーループから反応又は重合熱を除く少なくとも1の第1の熱交換装置、及び (v)第1フローループ中の第1反応流及び第1ポリマーを少なくとも1の第 1熱交換装置から少なくとも1の生成物出口にポンピングするための少なくと も1の第1ポンプ装置を持つ、及び (B)第2反応器を形成する第2フローループ、ここで第2反応器は第2反応 器容積をもち、第2フローループは; (i)少なくとも1の第2生成物出口、 (ii)触媒がそこを通って第2フローループに流れる少なくとも1の第2触媒 入口、 (iii)モノマーがそこを通って第2フローループに流れ且つ触媒及び溶媒と共 に第2反応流を形成する少なくとも1の第2モノマー入口、 (iv)第2反応流及びそこで形成された第2ポリマーを受け入れ且つ第2フロ ーループから反応又は重合熱を除く少なくとも1の第2の熱交換装置、及び (v)第2フローループ中の第2反応流及び第2ポリマーを少なくとも1の第 2熱交換装置から少なくとも1の第2生成物出口にポンピングするための少な くとも1の第2ポンプ装置を持つ、及び (C)反応器流から少なくとも85Btu/時・立方フィート・°F(1.6 kW/m3・°K)の速度で全反応又は重合熱を除く少なくとも1の第1熱交 換装置及び少なくとも1の第2熱交換装置、 (D)第1ポリマー及び第1反応器流の1部を第1フローループの少なくとも 1の第1生成物出口からそこに流す少なくとも1の生成物入口をもつ第2フロ ーループ、及び (E)少なくとも1の第2生成物出口を通して第2フローループを出す第1ポ リマー、第2ポリマー、第1反応流及び第2反応流の1部、からなることを特 徴とする溶液重合系。 34.ポリマーを伴う各反応流が実質上液相溶液として維持される請求項33の溶 液重合系。 35.ポリマーが少なくとも0.7ポンド/時/ガロン(フローループ容積)の速 度で生成する請求項33の溶液重合系。 36.ポリマーが少なくとも5ポンド/時/ガロン(フローループ容積)の速度で 生成する請求項33の溶液重合系。 37.ポリマーが少なくとも12ポンド/時/ガロン(フローループ容積)の速度 で生成する請求項33の溶液重合系。 38.ポリマーが少なくとも15ポンド/時/ガロン(フローループ容積)の速度 で生成する請求項33の溶液重合系。 39.ポリマーが50以下のリサイクル比で生成する請求項33の溶液重合系。 40.ポリマーが25以下のリサイクル比で生成する請求項33の溶液重合系。 41.ポリマーが15以下のリサイクル比で生成する請求項33の溶液重合系。 42.ポリマーが10以下のリサイクル比で生成する請求項33の溶液重合系。 43.ポリマーがポリエチレンである請求項33の溶液重合系。 44.反応器容積をもつ少なくとも1の反応器を形成する少なくとも1のフロール ープにモノマーを供給し、 触媒を少なくとも1のフローループに供給し、溶媒を少なくとも1のフロー ループに供給し、モノマー、触媒及び溶媒が反応流を形成し、そこでモノマー のポリマーへの重合反応を生起して反応又は重合熱を発生させ、反応流を少な くとも1の熱交換装置に流し、そこでポリマー及び反応流から少なくとも85 Btu/時・立方フィート・°F(1.6kW/m3・°K)の速度で反応又 は重合熱を除き、そしてポリマーと反応流の1部を生成物出口を通って少なく とも1のフローループから出し、それらの残部を少なくとも1のフローループ を通して循環させることを特徴とするモノマーの重合によりポリマーを製造す る方法。 45.少なくとも1の熱交換装置が少なくとも400Btu/時・立方フィート・ °F(7.4kW/m3・°K)の速度で熱を除く請求項44の方法。 46.少なくとも1の熱交換装置が少なくとも600Btu/時・立方フィート・ °F(11.2kW/m3・°K)の速度で熱を除く請求項44の方法。 47.少なくとも1の熱交換装置が第1熱交換器をもち、第1熱交換器が熱交換媒 体を通すハウジング及び反応流とポリマーを流す複数の静止ミキサーをもつ請 求項44の方法であって、該方法がさらに、反応流とポリマーを第1熱交換器 を通しまたそこから少なくとも1のフローループ中に、さらにそのなかで移動 させるために流す請求項44の方法。 48.少なくとも1の追加の熱交換器が反応流とポリマーを受け入れそして反応流 から反応又は重合熱を除くために少なくとも1のフローループ上にある請求項 47の方法であって、該方法がさらに、反応流とポリマーを少なくとも1のポ ンプ装置によって生成物出口にポンピングし、ポリマーと反応流の1部を生成 物出口から出しそして反応流とポリマーの1部を少なくとも1のフローループ を通して循環させる請求項47の方法。 49.触媒入口の下流に位置する少なくとも1のモノマー入口があり、そして該方 法がさらにモノマーを少なくとも1のモノマー入口を通してフローループに供 給する請求項44の方法。 55.静止ミキサーが触媒入口とモノマー入口の間のフローループ中に配置されて おり、そして該方法がさらに反応流を静止ミキサーで混合する請求項44の方 法。 51.静止ミキサーがモノマー入口と少なくとも1の熱交換装置の間の少なくとも 1のフローループ中に反応流を混合するために配置されており、そして該方法 がさらに反応流を静止ミキサーで混合する請求項44の方法。 52.モノマーインゼクターがモノマー入口と流体連通してフローループ中にあり 、そして該方法がさらにモノマーと溶媒の流れをモノマーインゼクターを通し てフローループに流す請求項44の方法。 53.さらに触媒を溶媒と共に触媒入口を通してフローループに流す請求項44の 方法。 54.さらにモノマーを溶媒と共にモノマー入口を通して少なくとも1のフロール ープに流す請求項44の方法。 55.触媒インゼクターが少なくとも1の触媒入口と流体連通してフローループ内 にあり、そして該方法がさらに触媒と溶媒を触媒インゼクターを通してフロー ループに流す請求項44の方法。 56.さらに、触媒インゼクターが溶媒入口をもつ本体、溶媒入口と流体連通して 溶媒を流す混合領域、触媒を混合領域に導入しうる触媒ポート及び混合した触 媒と溶媒をフローループに流す出口をもつ請求項55の方法。 57.反応流がポリマーと共に実質上液相溶液として維持される請求項44の溶液 重合系。 58.フローループが反応器容積をもちそしてポリマーが少なくとも2ポンド/時 /ガロン(反応器容積)の速度で生成する請求項44の溶液重合系。 59.ポリマーが50以下のリサイクル比で生成する請求項44の溶液重合系。 60.ポリマーがポリエチレンである請求項44の溶液重合系。 61.第1反応器容積をもつ第1循環用反応器からなる第1フローループにモノマ ーを供給し、触媒を第1フローループに供給し、溶媒を第1フローループに供 給し、モノマー、触媒及び溶媒が第1反応流を形成し、そこでモノマーの第1 ポリマーへの重合反応を生起して反応又は重合熱を発生させ、第1反応流を第 1熱交換装置に流し、そこで第1ポリマー及び第1反応流から少なくとも85 Btu/時・立方フィート・°F(1.6kW/m3・°K)の速度で反応又 は重合熱を除き、そして第1ポリマーと第1反応流の1部を第1生成物出口を 通って第1フローループから出し、モノマーを第2反応器容積をもつ第2循環 反応器からなる第2フローループに供給し、触媒を第2フローループに供給し 、溶媒を第2フローループに供給し、モノマー、触媒及び溶媒が第2反応流を 形成し、そこでモノマーの第2ポリマーへの重合反応を生起して反応又は重合 熱を発生させ、第2反応流を第2熱交換装置に流し、そこで第2ポリマー及び 第2反応流から少なくとも85Btu/時・立方フィート・°F(1.6kW /m3・°K)の速度で重合熱を除き、そして第2ポリマーと第2反応流の1 部を第2生成物出口を通って第2フローループから出すことを特徴とするモノ マーを重合してポリマーを製造する方法。 62.さらに第1ポリマーと第1反応流の1部を第1生成物出口から第2フロール ープに供給する請求項61の方法。 63.共通の出口ラインをもちそして該方法がさらに第1生成物出口から流れる第 1ポリマーと第1反応器流の部分を共通出口ラインに供給し、そして第2生成 物出口から流れる第2ポリマーと第2反応器流の部分を共通出口ラインに供給 する請求項61の方法。 64.モノマーを連続重合するための請求項1の溶液重合系。 65.モノマーを連続重合するための請求項33の溶液重合系。 66.さらにモノマー、触媒及び溶媒をフローループに連続的に供給し、そして生 成物出口からポリマ一生成物を反応流を連続的にとり出す請求項44の方法。 67.さらに、モノマー、触媒及び溶媒を第1及び第2フローループに連続的に供 給し、そして第2生成物出口からポリマー生成物と反応流の部分を連続的にと り出す請求項61の方法。 68.溶媒と触媒をもつフローループ反応器の反応流中でエチレンモノマーを重合 する非断熱溶液重合方法であって、該方法がエチレンモノマーを溶媒と触媒を 含む反応流中に供給し、そこでエチレンポリマーを生成しそしてそれにより反 応又は重合熱を生成させ、そして反応又は重合熱を反応流から非断熱的に除く ことを特徴とする溶液重合方法。 69.さらに少なくとも1のα−オレフィンコモノマーを反応流に流し、そしてそ こで少なくとも1のα−オレフィンが共重合したエチレンポリマーを生成する 請求項68の方法。 70.反応又は重合熱を少なくとも1Btu/時・立方フィート・°Fの速度で除 く請求項68の方法。 71.溶媒と触媒をエチレンモノマーの導入より上流で反応流に導入する請求項6 8の方法。
