本発明は、上記課題を解決するためになされたもので、本発明の目的は、ロータリー式気化バーナを備えた燃焼装置において、燃焼時に要求燃焼量または水量が単位時間内に所定量以上の減少を検出した際に、燃焼を停止させる消火指示を出し、前記燃料調整手段は直ちに燃料の供給を停止することなく、直ちに所定の燃焼量に移行させ、この所定の燃焼量で燃焼を所定時間継続させ、燃焼を所定時間継続させている間に再度消火条件を満たしているかを確認する。このことにより不必要な消火回数を減らし、白煙および臭いを低減させ、さらに出湯温度の安定性を高めた燃焼装置を提供することにある。
