Abstract
【解決手段】モジュラー式プラグコネクタ20は、複数の平面状の絶縁体剥ぎ取り接点36により個々の導体21を結線のために位置決めする、略平面状の列状導体の位置決め通路30を備える。複数の導体結線スロット34が、導体位置決め通路の各々に対して平行で且つ連通するように形成され、接点を結線する間に、絶縁体剥ぎ取り接点を導体内に挿入すると、導体の各々が、スロット内に付勢され、隣接する導体の位置をずらす。モジュラー式プラグには、自由端を有する掛止めアーム56が設けられ、自由端52はコネクタの頂部壁25に向けて下方に伸長し、コネクタの表面に近接する位置にて終端となるか、コネクタの表面の窪み部分内に伸長する。

Description
本発明の別の目的は、コネクタの掛止めアームがその他のコネクタ、または表面ともつれるのを防止するコネクタを提供することである。
図6乃至図12に最も良く図示するように、4つの導体結線スロット34が導体位置決め通路29の各々に対して平行に且つ隣接する位置に配置されている。これらの4つのスロット34は、通路30に対して平行に且つコネクタ20の前面24を貫通して伸長している。スロット34は、その長さに沿ってそれぞれの各通路30と合流し且つその通路と連通しており、このため、それぞれの導体位置決め通路30内に配置された導体21を最初にその長さの横方向に動かして、それぞれの隣接するスロット34内に入れることができる。
コネクタ20内で複対形のケーブルの導体を結線することは次のステップから成る方法で行われる。即ち、ケーブル22のシースの端部分を除去するステップと、平行な方向によりを解消し且つ配置し、コネクタ20内に挿入する間に、よりが無くなった導体21の平行な末端の長さが、その配置された列を確実に把持するのに十分であるように、8つの導体21を略平面状の列状の正確な順序で配置するステップと、導体の自由端部が前面24を経て突出するように、導体21の列を導体の位置決め通路30(図6)内に挿入するステップと、導体の自由端を外方に引き出して、各導体対のより部分を引っ張ってコネクタ内に緊密に入れて、この導体のより部分が可能な限り接点36、37に近づくようにするステップと、モジュラー式のプラグ結線工具(図示せず)により、接点36、37を付勢して、導体21と導電係合状態にし、歪み除去楔41をシース23と係合させる(図9乃至図13)ステップと、コネクタ20の前面24から伸長する導体21の部分を切断するステップとである。結線工具(図示せず)は、最初に、絶縁体剥ぎ取り接点37と係合し、それぞれの導体位置決め通路30内に配置された導体21に対して接点37を内方に付勢させる。接点37を内方に続けて動かすと、上方リッジ31間の導体21が付勢されて、導体の結線スロット34内に入り、次に、工具を接点36、37に係合させて、全ての接点が内方に付勢され、接点36、37を導体21に結線する。一つの代替的な結線方法は、導体をコネクタ20内に緊密に引き込んだ後で且つ接点36、37を導体21に結線する前に、コネクタ20の前面24から伸長する導体部分を切断することである。
Claims (5)
- 通信用のコネクタであって、
当該コネクタの頂壁部に形成された案内突起部と、
前記案内突起部から延びる掛止めアームと、
を備え、
前記掛止めアームが、前記案内突起部に連結する連結部分と、前記連結部分に接続される第一の部分と、前記第一の部分に接続され、当該コネクタの上面に向けて内方に突出する自由端部分と、を有し、
前記掛止めアームが、当該掛止めアームを押圧すると、当該コネクタの上面を前記自由端部分と係合させるように構成されていることを特徴とするコネクタ。 - 前記第一の部分と前記自由端部分との間を接続する活性ヒンジをさらに有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のコネクタ。
- 前記活性ヒンジが、前記第一の部分に接続される第一のヒンジ端部と、前記自由端部分に接続される第二のヒンジ端部と、を有することを特徴とする請求項2に記載のコネクタ。
- 前記活性ヒンジが、前記第一のヒンジ端部と前記第二のヒンジ端部との間にあるアーチ状セクションを有することを特徴とする請求項3に記載のコネクタ。
- 前記第一の部分が、前記自由端部分に対して鈍角をなして構成されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のコネクタ。
