Abstract
【解決手段】ステアリングヨーク222は、第1の端部が、ステアリングラックシャフトを受けるためのアーチ状窪みであって、低摩擦ポリマー層を含む接触面224を含む。このことにより、ラックシャフトに対する付勢力を大きくすることを可能にする。さらにヨークに付勢力を供給するためのバネを支持しかつ保持するように構成および配置されたバネ取付け台228を備える。

Claims (17)
- シリンダー壁と、ステアリングラックシャフトを受けるように構成されるアーチ状窪みを含む閉じられた上面と、開放底部とを有する中空シリンダー本体と、
前記中空シリンダー本体の開放底部に設けられ、前記アーチ状窪みから前記シリンダー壁に相当する距離まで離れているバネ取付け台と、を含むステアリングヨーク。 - 前記シリンダー壁は、金属とポリマーの積層シートである、請求項1に記載のステアリングヨーク。
- 前記金属が鋼又はアルミを含有する、請求項2に記載のステアリングヨーク。
- ポリマーが芳香族ポリエステルとグラファイトから選択された1種以上の充填材を含む、請求項2に記載のステアリングヨーク。
- ポリマーが同ポリマー中に埋め込まれた青銅メッシュスクリーンを含む、請求項2に記載のステアリングヨーク。
- ポリマーは、フルオロポリマーまたはアセタール樹脂を含む、請求項2に記載のステアリングヨーク。
- ポリマー層の公称の厚さが50μmより厚い、請求項2に記載のステアリングヨーク。
- ポリマー層の公称の厚さが100μm以上である、請求項2に記載のステアリングヨーク。
- ハウジング、バネおよび請求項1に記載のステアリングヨークを含むアセンブリ。
- アーチ状窪みは、溝であり、溝の露出面は低摩擦ポリマー層を含む、請求項1に記載のステアリングヨーク。
- 溝の露出面は、山部および谷部によってテクスチャー加工されており、山部の高さの平均は少なくとも10μmである、請求項10に記載のステアリングヨーク。

- 実質的に溝の露出面全体にわたって、溝が、ステアリングラックシャフトを支持しかつそれに接触するように構成および配置されている、請求項10、11または12の何れか1項に記載のステアリングヨーク。
- ステアリングヨーク本体を形成する方法であって、
ダイ上で金属/フルオロポリマー積層物をドローイングして、シリンダー壁、閉じられた上面および開放底部を有する実質的に中空の形体を作製するステップ;
閉じられた上面に、ステアリングラックシャフトを補完するような形状にされた凹状のアーチ状窪みを形成するステップ、
ヨークに付勢力を供給するためのバネを支持および保持するように構成された凸状の窪みと、同凸状の窪みには、バネを該窪みの中心に保つために、上方に突き出たディンプルとが含まれる、バネ取付け台を形成するステップ;
前記アーチ状窪みから前記シリンダー壁に相当する距離まで離して前記バネ取付け台を中空体の開放底部に取り付けるステップ
を含む方法。
