Abstract
Description
本出願は、同時係属中の仮米国出願シリアル番号第61/692,058号(出願日:2012年8月22日)への優先権を主張し、同出願の恩恵を主張する。本明細書中、同文献を参考のため援用する。
,843号、US5,679,479号、US5,776,630号、US5,789,103号、US6,410,183号、W001/13,442(Besenhard、J.O.、Editor、Handbook of Battery Materials、Wiley−VCH Verlag GmbH、Weinheim、Germany(1999)、Chapter9、pp.245〜292を参照)。本明細書中、同文献を参考のため援用する。これらの膜は、バックウェブ18上に起立する複数のリブ16を含み得る。これらのリブ16は、機械方向(MD)に主に延びる。膜14もまた、複数の横方向縁リブ20を含み得る。横方向縁リブ20も、バックウェブ18上に起立するが、高さはリブ16の高さよりも低い場合が多い。横方向縁リブ20は、機械方向(MD)に主に延びる。膜12も、複数の負方向クロスリブ22(図示せず)を含み得る。負方向クロスリブ22は、膜の後側(すなわち、リブ16を含む側と反対側)から起立し、クロス機械方向(TD)に主に延びる。
ベースのゲルである。シリカは、沈殿、ヒューム、コロイドおよび/または化学修飾されたものを含む任意のシリカであり得る。別の実施形態において、ゲル化剤は、ケイ酸塩および/または非ケイ酸塩鉱物または化合物または高吸収ポリマーであり得る。
以下の表は、ゲル化剤を用いた不織布とゲル化剤を用いない不織布との間の比較を示す。用いた不織布は、40wt%の溶解性繊維(セルロース)および60wt%の非溶解性繊維(ポリエステル)を有するGlatfelterのDYNAGRID328NGペーストペーパー(基本重量28gsm)とした。
不織布を2週間後にセル中に配置。5枚のシートを試験し、平均抵抗を報告した。
上した電池セパレータ、コンポーネント、電池、および/または関連する製造方法および/または使用方法と、鉛酸電池中において用いられるゲル含浸不織布を用いた電池セパレータと、ゲル含浸不織布と、および/またはこのようなセパレータまたは不織布を含む電池の必要性に対処するか、これらをを提供するか、またはこれらに向けられる。
Claims (11)
- 鉛酸電池用電池セパレータであって、
細孔性膜と、
前記細孔性膜に隣接する不織布であって、酸溶解性繊維および非酸溶解性繊維の混合物を含み、前記非酸溶解性繊維に対する前記酸溶解性繊維の重量比は20〜80:20〜80である前記不織布と、
前記不織布に含浸されているゲルと
を含み、前記不織布は1000l/m2を超える多孔性を有する鉛酸電池用電池セパレ
ータ。 - 前記不織布は基本重量を有し、前記ゲルの基本重量は、前記不織布基本重量の20〜160%の範囲内である、請求項1に記載の電池セパレータ。
- 前記ゲルはシリカゲルである、請求項1に記載の電池セパレータ。
- 前記シリカは、沈殿シリカ、ヒュームシリカ、コロイドシリカ、化学修飾されたシリカ、及びこれらの組み合わせからなる群より選択される請求項1に記載の電池セパレータ。
- 前記酸溶解性繊維はセルロース繊維である、請求項1に記載の電池セパレータ。
- 前記非溶解性繊維は、ポリマーおよび/またはガラス繊維である、請求項1に記載の電池セパレータ。
- 前記不織布は細孔性膜に接着されている、請求項1に記載の電池セパレータ。
- 前記細孔性膜は前記細孔性膜の第一の表面上に第一組のリブを含む、請求項1に記載の電池セパレータ。
- 前記リブは、機械方向および/または機械方向をの横切る方向に延びるリブである、請
求項8に記載の電池セパレータ。 - 前記不織布は、前記不織布の第一の表面上において前記第一組のリブに隣接される、請求項8に記載の電池セパレータ。
- 前記不織布は、前記不織布の第一の表面上において前記第一組のリブに接着される、請求項8に記載の電池セパレータ。
