Abstract

[Problem] To provide a portable pet toilet that can securely fix the toilet sheet and improve usability.
[Solution] The portable pet toilet 100 comprises a main body 1 and a sheet fixing body 2. The main body 1 has a sheet placement area 11 on which a toilet sheet S is placed on a placement surface 11a, a first bending area 12 that is bent in a plane-intersecting direction relative to the sheet placement area 11 and the placement surface 11a, and a facing area 13 that faces the placement surface 11a and holds the toilet sheet S between itself and the placement surface 11a when the first bending area 12 is bent and the main body 1 is turned inside out. The sheet fixing body 2 provided on the main body 1 is a snap button, and the sheet fixing body 2 has a male button portion provided on the placement surface 11a in the facing area 13 and a female button portion provided on the facing surface 13a that can engage with the male button portion when the toilet sheet S is held between itself and the male button portion.

Description

This invention relates to a portable toilet for pets.

Conventionally, portable, simple pet toilets have been known. These types of toilets, for example, as described in Patent Document 1, feature a flexible mat on which a toilet sheet (so-called pet sheet) that absorbs pet waste can be detachably attached. This mat can be rolled up or folded for portability.

By the way, in the case of the mat described in Patent Document 1, the corners of the toilet sheet are inserted into slits formed in the four corners of the mat and secured. However, with this method of securing, the toilet sheet tends to shift on the mat when the pet uses the toilet, and there was room for improvement in terms of usability.

Therefore, this invention provides a portable pet toilet that can securely fix the toilet sheet and improves usability.

A portable pet toilet according to one aspect of this invention comprises a body made of a flexible thin plate material, and a sheet fixing body provided on the body for detachably fixing an absorbent toilet sheet to the body. The body has a sheet placement area on its surface for placing the toilet sheet, a first bent area continuous with the outer edge of the sheet placement area and bent in a plane-intersecting direction relative to the sheet placement area and the aforementioned placement surface, and a facing area continuous with the first bent area, which faces the aforementioned placement surface when the first bent area is bent and the body is inverted, and which sandwiches the toilet sheet between itself and the aforementioned placement surface. The sheet fixing body is a snap button, and the sheet fixing body has a male button portion provided on one of the facing surfaces in the facing area facing the aforementioned placement surface and the placement surface, and a female button portion provided on the other of the facing surfaces and the aforementioned placement surface, which can engage with the male button portion when the toilet sheet is sandwiched between it and the male button portion.

In the above-described portable pet toilet, the aforementioned surface on the main body may be rectangular in shape, and the first bent region on the main body may be provided so as to be continuous with each of the four sides of the aforementioned surface that constitute the outer edge of the sheet placement region.

In the above-described portable pet toilet, when the outer edge formed by one of the four sides of the aforementioned placement surface is designated as the first edge, and the outer edge formed by the opposite side of that edge is designated as the second edge, the sheet placement area is provided with a second folding area that extends between the first and second edges, intersecting the extending directions of the first and second edges, and allowing the sheet placement area to be folded in the extending direction. In a usage position where the sheet placement area is not folded by the second folding area, the first folding area and the opposing area may be positioned so as not to overlap with the second folding area in the extending direction of the first and second edges.

In the above-described portable pet toilet, the second bending regions are provided in two locations, spaced apart in the extending direction of the first and second edges. Each of these second bending regions is composed of a pair of bending lines extending parallel to and close to the extending direction. The spacing between the bending lines in one second bending region may be greater than the spacing between the bending lines in the other second bending region.

In the above-described portable pet toilet, the main body may be provided with a folding fixing body that acts as a snap button to secure one side of the sheet-holding area and the remaining portion of the sheet-holding area in an opposing position when the sheet-holding area is folded at the second folding area.

In the above-described portable pet toilet, a non-slip material may be provided on the back surface of the sheet placement area, which is the surface opposite to the aforementioned placement surface.

According to the above-mentioned portable pet toilet, the toilet sheet can be securely fixed, improving usability.

(Overall structure)
The following describes a portable pet toilet 100 according to an embodiment of the present invention.
As shown in Figures 1(a) and 1(b), the portable pet toilet 100 comprises a main body 1, a sheet fixing body 2 provided on the main body 1 for detachably fixing an absorbent toilet sheet S to the main body 1, a folding fixing body 3 provided on the main body 1 for maintaining the folded position of the main body 1, and an anti-slip member 4 provided on the main body 1.

(Main unit)
The main body 1 is made of a flexible thin sheet material (for example, a resin material such as polypropylene). The thickness of the main body 1 is 1 mm or less, preferably 0.8 mm or less, and in this embodiment it is 0.75 mm. As shown in Figure 2, the main body 1 has a sheet placement area 11 on which the toilet sheet S is placed, a first bending area 12 continuous with the outer edge 11x of the sheet placement area 11, an opposing area 13 continuous with the first bending area 12, and a second bending area 14 that makes the sheet placement area 11 bendable.

The sheet placement area 11 is a rectangular (or square) portion of the main body 1 when viewed from above, and forms a rectangular (or square) placement surface 11a for placing the toilet seat S, which will be its surface. When the direction of the longer side of the placement surface 11a is defined as the horizontal direction D1 and the direction of the shorter side as the vertical direction D2, the dimensions of the sheet placement area 11 and the placement surface 11a are, for example, 500 mm (width) x 330 mm (height) or 590 mm (width) x 450 mm (height).

Returning to Figure 1(a), in the sheet placement area 11, the outer edge 11x formed by the longer side of one of the four sides of the placement surface 11a is designated as the first edge 11x1, and the outer edge 11x formed by the other longer side opposite to the first edge is designated as the second edge 11x2. Furthermore, the outer edge 11x formed by the shorter side of one of the four sides of the placement surface 11a is designated as the third edge 11x3, and the outer edge 11x formed by the other shorter side is designated as the fourth edge 11x4. In this embodiment, the upper outer edge 11x in Figure 1(a) is the first edge 11x1, the lower outer edge 11x is the second edge 11x2, the left outer edge 11x is the third edge 11x3, and the right outer edge 11x is the fourth edge 11x4. The corners 11y of the sheet placement area 11 where these outer edges 11x1 to 11x4 connect are chamfered with either a rounded or rounded chamfer.

As shown in Figure 2, the first folding region 12 is the portion of the main body 1 that is folded in a direction that intersects the mounting surface 11a with respect to the sheet mounting region 11. The first folding region 12 is provided on each of the four sides of the mounting surface 11a, that is, continuously along each outer edge 11x1 to 11x4. The first folding region 12A, which is continuous with the first edge 11x1 of the sheet mounting region 11, is arranged at multiple locations with spacing in the lateral direction D1, which is the direction in which the first edge 11x1 extends. In this embodiment, the first folding region 12A is provided at three locations with spacing in the lateral direction D1, one each between one of the second folding regions 14 and the third edge 11x3 (described in detail later), between the other second folding region 14 and the fourth edge 11x4, and between the two second folding regions 14.

Similarly, the first fold region 12A, which is continuous with the second edge 11x2, is arranged at multiple locations (three locations) with intervals in the lateral direction D1. The first fold region 12A, which is continuous with the first edge 11x1, and the first fold region 12A, which is continuous with the second edge 11x2, are arranged correspondingly at the same position in the lateral direction D1.

Furthermore, the first bent region 12B, which is continuous with the third edge 11x3 and the fourth edge 11x4, is provided over the entire length of the vertical direction D2, which is the extension direction of the third edge 11x3 and the fourth edge 11x4. In this embodiment, each of the first bent regions 12A and 12B is composed of a pair of fold lines 12x that extend parallel to each other and close together along the outer edges 11x1 to 11x4, as shown in Figure 3, and a narrow plate-like portion 12y sandwiched between the pair of fold lines 12x. In each of the first bent regions 12A and 12B, one of the fold lines 12x is formed on the outer edges 11x1 to 11x4.

The opposing region 13 is provided continuously with each of the first folding regions 12A and 12B. When the first folding regions 12A and 12B are folded, the main body 1 is reversed, and it faces the mounting surface 11a (see Figure 1(a)), forming an opposing surface 13a that holds the toilet seat S between it and the mounting surface 11a.

The opposing region 13 is a portion of the main body 1 that extends in a band shape along the outer edge 11x near the outer edge 11x of the sheet placement region 11 when the opposing surface 13a faces the placement surface 11a (hereinafter referred to as the "usage position") (see Figure 1(a)). Furthermore, the opposing regions 13A provided on the first edge 11x1 and the second edge 11x2 are continuous with the first folding region 12A, which is provided at a distance D1 in the lateral direction on the first edge 11x1 and the second edge 11x2. Therefore, in the unfolded position where the first folding regions 12A and 12B are not folded, they are provided to partially protrude from the first edge 11x1 and the second edge 11x2, respectively.

Furthermore, the outer edge 13Ax of the opposing region 13A, which is continuous with the first bent region 12A provided on the first edge 11x1, has a curved shape that is convex toward the side away from the first edge 11x1. Similarly, the outer edge 13Ax of the opposing region 13A, which is continuous with the first bent region 12A provided on the second edge 11x2, has a curved shape that is convex toward the side away from the second edge 11x2.

Furthermore, the outer edge 13Bx of the opposing region 13B, which is continuous with the first bent region 12B provided on the third edge 11x3, has a pair of curved portions 130 positioned closer to the corner 11y of the sheet placement region 11 and convex toward the side away from the third edge 11x3, and a straight portion 131 sandwiched between the pair of curved portions 130 and extending parallel to the third edge 11x3 of the sheet placement region 11. Similarly, the outer edge 13Bx of the opposing region 13B, which is continuous with the first bent region 12B provided on the fourth edge 11x4 (see Figure 1(a)), also has a pair of curved portions 130 and a straight portion 131.

Returning to Figure 1(a), the second bending region 14 is formed in the sheet placement region 11. It extends vertically in the direction D2, intersecting the extension directions of the first edge 11x1 and the second edge 11x2, between the first edge 11x1 and the second edge 11x2 of the sheet placement region 11. This allows the sheet placement region 11 to be folded horizontally in the direction D1 (the direction of surface intersection of the placement surface 11a).

In this embodiment, the second bending region 14 is provided in two locations, spaced apart in the lateral direction D1. As a result, the two second bending regions 14 divide the sheet placement region 11 into three regions in the lateral direction D1: a first region 111, a second region 112, and a third region 113.

Furthermore, the first folding regions 12A, 12B and the opposing regions 13A, 13B are positioned in the lateral direction D1 so as not to overlap with the second folding region 14 in the usage position (shown in Figure 1(a)) and the unfolded position (shown in Figure 2) where the sheet placement region 11 is not folded. In other words, the first folding regions 12A, 12B and the opposing regions 13A, 13B are located in the lateral direction D1 where the second folding region 14 does not exist.

Hereinafter, the second folding region 14 located between the first region 111 and the second region 112 will be referred to as the second folding region 14A, and the second folding region 14 located between the second region 112 and the third region 113 will be referred to as the second folding region 14B.

Each of the second folding regions 14A and 14B is composed of a pair of folding lines 14x extending parallel to the vertical direction D2 and adjacent to the horizontal direction D1, and a narrow plate-like portion 14y sandwiched between the pair of folding lines 14x. The distance d1 between the folding lines 14x in the second folding region 14A is greater than the distance d2 between the folding lines 14x in the second folding region 14B. As a result, as shown in Figures 4(a) to 4(c), when the sheet-supporting region 11 is folded in the second folding regions 14A and 14B, the sheet-supporting region 11 becomes a tri-fold state, with the third region 113 sandwiched between the second region 112 and the first region 111, and the main body 1 is folded, resulting in the folded position.

(Sheet fixing device)
Returning to Figure 3, the sheet fixing body 2 has a male button portion 21 provided on the mounting surface 11a (or the opposing surface 13a) and a female button portion 22 provided on the opposing surface 13a (or the mounting surface 11a) that can engage with the male button portion 21. In other words, the sheet fixing body 2 is a snap button.

The male button portion 21 is provided so as to protrude from the mounting surface 11a at the position where the opposing surfaces 13a in the opposing regions 13A and 13B face each other.

The female button portion 22 is provided one at a time for each of the opposing regions 13A located on the first edge 11x1 and the second edge 11x2 of the sheet placement area 11. In this embodiment, the female button portion 22 is positioned at the center of the opposing surface 13a of the opposing region 13A in the horizontal direction D1 and the vertical direction D2. Furthermore, two female button portions 22 are provided for each of the opposing regions 13B located on the third edge 11x3 and the fourth edge 11x4, spaced apart in the vertical direction D2. In this embodiment, the female button portion 22 is positioned at the center of the opposing surface 13a of the opposing region 13B in the horizontal direction D1 and the vertical direction D2. The female button portion 22 engages with the male button portion 21 with the toilet sheet S (see Figure 2) sandwiched between them.

(Folding fixing mechanism)
As shown in Figures 4(a) to 4(c), the folding fixing body 3 is a snap button that fixes one side of the sheet mounting area 11 and the remaining part facing each other, with the second folding areas 14A and 14B in between, when the sheet mounting area 11 is folded in the second folding areas 14A and 14B to assume the folded position. More specifically, the folding fixing body 3 has a female button portion 31 provided on the back surface 11b opposite to the mounting surface 11a in the third area portion 113 of the sheet mounting area 11, and a male button portion 32 provided on the opposing back surface 13b, which is the opposite surface to the opposing surface 13a in the opposing area 13B provided on the third edge 11x3. In other words, in this embodiment, the folding fixing body 3 is a snap button. The folding fixing body 3 is provided in two locations spaced apart in the vertical direction D2.

(Anti-slip material)
Returning to Figures 1(a) and 1(b), the anti-slip members 4 are protrusions made of resin or the like that project from the back surface 11b and the mounting surface 11a near each of the four corners 11y of the sheet mounting area 11. Each anti-slip member 4 is positioned between adjacent opposing areas 13A and 13B in the usage position (see Figure 1(a)) so as not to interfere with the opposing areas 13A and 13B in the usage position. The anti-slip members 4 are provided so as to penetrate the sheet mounting area 11 and are annular in shape when viewed from above, forming through holes 4h on the inside. The through holes 4h are formed to a size that allows the user to insert their finger. Also, considering outdoor use, the through holes 4h are formed to a size that allows a peg to be inserted.

(Effects)
As described above, with regard to the portable pet toilet 100 of this embodiment, by bending the main body 1, which is made of thin sheet material, at the first bending region 12 to assume the usage position, the toilet sheet S can be sandwiched between the mounting surface 11a and the opposing surface 13a, and the toilet sheet S can be fixed to the main body 1 by the sheet fixing body 2, which is a snap button. Therefore, the toilet sheet S can be firmly fixed to the main body 1, leading to improved usability.

Furthermore, it is possible to unfold the main body 1 without folding it in the first bending region 12, making cleaning the main body 1 easy. In particular, by using resin material for the main body 1, the entire main body 1 can be washed, making it extremely convenient to use.

Furthermore, since the opposing regions 13 that sandwich the toilet sheet S between themselves and the sheet placement region 11 are provided on all four sides of the outer edges 11x1 to 11x4 of the sheet placement region 11, i.e., all four sides of the placement surface 11a, the toilet sheet S can be securely fixed to the main body 1.

Furthermore, by providing a second folding area 14 in the sheet placement area 11, for example, after use, the toilet seat S can be fixed to the main body 1 while the main body 1 is folded and carried to the trash can, allowing for hygienic disposal of the toilet seat S.

Furthermore, in the position where the sheet placement area 11 is not folded at the second folding area 14 (usage position, unfolded position), the first folding area 12 and the opposing area 13 are positioned so as not to overlap with the second folding area 14. Therefore, when folding the sheet placement area 11 at the second folding area 14, it is not necessary to fold the first folding area 12 and the opposing area 13 together, allowing the main body 1 to be easily folded and folded.

Furthermore, since the distance d1 between the pair of fold lines 14x in the second folding region 14A is greater than the distance d2 between the pair of fold lines 14x in the other second folding region 14B, when the main body 1 is folded into thirds, the third region 113 in the sheet placement region 11 can be smoothly folded inward.

Furthermore, by providing a folding fixing body 3, which is a snap button, the main body 1 can be folded at the second folding region 14 while the used toilet sheet S remains fixed to the main body 1. This prevents the main body 1 from unexpectedly returning to the usage position, allowing the portable pet toilet 100 to be carried to the trash can while maintaining its folded position, thus preventing leakage of excrement during transport.

Furthermore, although the main body 1 is made of a thin resin sheet material, making it very lightweight, the presence of an anti-slip member 4 on the back surface 11b of the sheet placement area 11 prevents the portable pet toilet 100 from moving due to wind or other factors when placed on the ground.

This invention is not limited to the embodiments described above, and various modifications can be made without departing from the spirit of this invention.
For example, as shown in Figure 5, the sheet placement area 11 may be folded 90 degrees at the second folding area 14A (or 14B) and used by leaning it against a wall W. This prevents pet waste from scattering around or sticking to the wall W.

Alternatively, the main body 1 may be folded in half by providing only one second folding region 14, or it may be provided in three or more locations. Furthermore, the main body 1 may be carried in a rolled-up form without providing any second folding regions 14.

Furthermore, the sheet placement area 11 is not limited to being rectangular; for example, it may be circular, elliptical, or the like. In this case, a second folding area 14 can also be formed to make it foldable.

This invention provides a portable pet toilet that allows the toilet sheet to be securely fixed, improving usability.
