Description
本明細書では、「α−オレフィン」は、鎖の最初の2個の炭素原子がそれらの間に二重結合をもつ、置換または非置換のオレフィン化合物を表す。例にはエチレン、プロピレン、ヘキセン、およびオクテンが含まれる。
3層(層比、20/60/20)7.5ミル共押出しシートを、冷却研磨ロール上への対称(palindromic)3層押出物のフラットキャスティングにより製造した。両外側層はそれぞれ、60%のA26+40%のA13のブレンドであり;コア層はA17であった。シートを35キログレイのレベルまで照射し、次に124℃の高温空気を用いてその延伸温度まで加熱した。次に、照射され加熱されたシートを縦および横方向のそれぞれに延伸比5:1でテンター法により延伸し、それから直ちに冷却した。

3層(層比、25/50/25)18ミルのラミネートシートを、個々の層のフラットキャスティングおよび構成成分の熱ラミネートにより製造した。両外側層はそれぞれ50%のA23+25%のA13+25%のA24のブレンドであり;コア層はA23であった。シートを35キログレイのレベルまで照射し、次に110℃の高温空気を用いてその延伸温度まで加熱した。次に、照射され加熱されたシートを縦および横方向のそれぞれに延伸比4.8:1でテンター法により延伸し、それから直ちに冷却した。
対称3層(層比、20/60/20)12.5ミルのラミネートシートを、フラットダイに溶融ポリマーを送る4台の押出機を用いて共押出しした。出てくる押出物を、回転している水冷研磨金属ロールに接触させることにより固体状態まで冷却した。両外側層はそれぞれA23であり、コア層はA31であった。シートを第2の水冷研磨金属ロールとゴムロールの間を通し厚いフィルムのロールとして巻いた。シートを35キログレイのレベルまで照射し、次に95℃の高温空気を用いてその延伸温度まで加熱した。次に、照射され加熱されたシートを縦および横方向のそれぞれに延伸比5:1でテンター法により延伸し、それから液体窒素に接触させて直ちに冷却した。フィルムの平均ヤング率は47,000psiであった。
コポリマーおよび層比の収縮フィルム特性への影響を調べるために、3および5層構造のフィルムを製造した。5台の押出機を用いて環状押出物を形成し、それを下向きにキャストし、固体状態まで冷却して18.75ミルの厚さの円筒状シートを得た。円筒状シートを平らにして二重リボン、あるいは一次テープとし、照射チャンバを通して移動させ、再加熱部に移動させ、そこで高温空気を用いて直ちにテープを加熱し、次に2つの回転しているニップロール間に保持されているエアバブルに沿って通すことにより横方向(TD)に延伸し、同時にバブルが間にある2組のニップロール間の速度差により縦方向(LD)に延伸した。得られた5:1×5:1の二軸延伸熱収縮フィルムを物理的性質について試験し、結果を表6および7に記す。表6で、各層の括弧内の数値は、フィルムの全厚さのパーセンテージとしての層の厚さを示す(例えば、比較例9で、層1と5はそれぞれ、フィルムの全厚さの15%をなしていた)。(表6および7において、220°F=104℃、240°F=115.6℃、260°F=127℃、280°F=138℃)
表13に開示される構成をもつ3層対称フィルムを、前記の下向きにキャストされる収縮フィルムと同様に調製する。約125℃より高い融点をもつポリオレフィンを組み込むことにより、各3層フィルムに高温収縮性能が付与される。
Claims (9)
- a)コポリマーの61重量%と85重量%の間のスチレンを含むエチレン/スチレンの線状ランダムコポリマーを含むコア層、および
b)エチレン/α−オレフィンコポリマー、エチレン/アクリル酸アルキルコポリマー、エチレン/アクリル酸コポリマー、イオノマー、プロピレンホモポリマー、プロピレンコポリマー、ブチレンホモポリマーおよびブチレンコポリマー、多成分エチレン/α−オレフィン相互侵入網目樹脂、プロピレンホモポリマーとプロピレン/エチレンコポリマーのブレンド、高密度ポリエチレン、高密度ポリエチレンとエチレン/酢酸ビニルコポリマーのブレンド、高密度ポリエチレンと低密度ポリエチレンのブレンドならびにこれらの材料の何れかのブレンドからなる群から選択されるオレフィンポリマーを含む第1および第2の外側層、
を備え、
i)縦および横方向の少なくとも一方の、345と1379MPa(50,000と200,000ポンド/平方インチ)の間のヤング率、
ii)縦および横方向の少なくとも一方の、115.6℃(240°F)での40%と80%の間の自由収縮、
iii)縦および横方向の少なくとも一方の、115.6℃(240°F)での345と2758kPa(50と400ポンド/平方インチ)の間の収縮張力、あるいは20と180グラムの間の収縮力、および
iv)6未満のヘーズ
を有する多層延伸熱収縮フィルム。 - a)コポリマーの61重量%と85重量%の間のスチレンを含むエチレン/スチレンの線状ランダムコポリマーを含むコア層、
b)2.0未満のメルトインデックスを有するエチレンコポリマーを含む第1および第2の中間層、および
c)エチレン/α−オレフィンコポリマー、エチレン/アクリル酸アルキルコポリマー、エチレン/アクリル酸コポリマー、イオノマー、プロピレンホモポリマー、プロピレンコポリマー、ブチレンホモポリマーおよびブチレンコポリマー、多成分エチレン/α−オレフィン相互侵入網目樹脂、プロピレンホモポリマーとプロピレン/エチレンコポリマーのブレンド、高密度ポリエチレン、高密度ポリエチレンとエチレン/酢酸ビニルコポリマーのブレンド、高密度ポリエチレンと低密度ポリエチレンのブレンドならびにこれらの材料の何れかのブレンドからなる群から選択されるオレフィンポリマーを含む第1および第2の外側層
を備え、
i)縦および横方向の少なくとも一方の、345と1379MPa(50,000と200,000ポンド/平方インチ)の間のヤング率、

c)エチレン/α−オレフィンコポリマー、エチレン/アクリル酸アルキルコポリマー、エチレン/アクリル酸コポリマー、イオノマー、プロピレンホモポリマー、プロピレンコポリマー、ブチレンホモポリマーおよびブチレンコポリマー、多成分エチレン/α−オレフィン相互侵入網目樹脂、プロピレンホモポリマーとプロピレン/エチレンコポリマーのブレンド、高密度ポリエチレン、高密度ポリエチレンとエチレン/酢酸ビニルコポリマーのブレンド、高密度ポリエチレンと低密度ポリエチレンのブレンドならびにこれらの材料の何れかのブレンドからなる群から選択されるオレフィンポリマーを含む第1および第2の外側層
を備え、
i)縦および横方向の少なくとも一方の、345と1379MPa(50,000と200,000ポンド/平方インチ)の間のヤング率、

- エチレン/スチレンの線状ランダムコポリマーを含む1つまたは複数の層が、全フィルム厚みの30と80%の間をなす請求項1、2、または3に記載のフィルム。
- エチレン/スチレンコポリマーが、エチレン/スチレンの均一で線状の擬似ランダムコポリマーを含む請求項1、2、3、4、または5に記載のフィルム。
- エチレン/スチレンコポリマーが、コポリマーの65重量%と80重量%の間のスチレンを含む請求項1、2、3、4、または5に記載のフィルム。
- 第1および第2の中間層がそれぞれ、0.916グラム/立方センチメートル未満の密度を有するエチレン/α−オレフィンコポリマー、エチレン/酢酸ビニルコポリマー、エチレン/プロピレン/ジエンターポリマー、超低密度ポリエチレン、超低密度ポリエチレンとエチレン/酢酸ビニルコポリマーのブレンド、ならびに多成分エチレン/α−オレフィン相互侵入網目樹脂から選択される材料を含む請求項2に記載のフィルム。
- コア層が、0.916グラム/立方センチメートル未満の密度を有するエチレン/α−オレフィンコポリマー、エチレン/酢酸ビニルコポリマー、エチレン/プロピレン/ジエンターポリマー、超低密度ポリエチレン、超低密度ポリエチレンとエチレン/酢酸ビニルコポリマーのブレンド、ならびに多成分エチレン/α−オレフィン相互侵入網目樹脂から選択される材料を含む請求項3に記載のフィルム。
