Description
以下、本発明を図1〜図11に示す一実施形態にもとづいて説明する。
なお、本発明は一実施形態に限定されるものではなく、本発明の主旨を逸脱しない範囲内で種々変更して実施しても構わない。上述した一実施形態では、吸気側のロッカシャフトを制御シャフトとして兼用させた構造を採用したが、別途、制御シャフトを用いた構造でも構わない。また上述した一実施形態では、本発明を吸気バルブ側に適用したが、これに限らず、排気バルブ側に本発明を適用してもよい。また上述の一実施形態では、本発明をSOHC式動弁系(1本のカムシャフトで吸気バルブと排気バルブを駆動する構造)のエンジンに適用したが、これに限らず、DOHC式動弁系(カムシャフトが吸気側と排気側とに専用にある構造)のエンジンに本発明を適用してもよい。
Claims (2)
- 複数の気筒を有した内燃機関に回転自在に設けられたカムシャフトと、
前記カムシャフトに形成されたカムと、
前記内燃機関に揺動自在に設けられ、吸気バルブ又は排気バルブを駆動するカム面を有
する揺動カムと、
前記揺動カムと前記カムとの間に介在され、前記カムの変位を前記揺動カムに伝達する
伝達アームと、
前記内燃機関に回動可能に設けられ、前記伝達アームを揺動自在に支持し、かつ回動変
位により該伝達アームの前記カムと当接する位置を変更可能とし、該位置変更により前記
吸気バルブ又は排気バルブのバルブ特性を制御可能とする制御シャフトとを有し、
前記揺動カムおよび前記伝達アームは、前記内燃機関の気筒毎に設けられ、
前記制御シャフトは、少なくとも2つの気筒の伝達アームをそれぞれ揺動自在に支持す
る共通のシャフト部材から構成され、
前記伝達アームの揺動支点と前記制御シャフトの回動中心とは、
前記内燃機関の高バルブリフトおよび高回転運転時において、前記伝達アームの揺動支
点に前記揺動カムが開弁方向に揺動する際に生じる最大荷重方向とそれとは反対の前記揺
動カムが閉弁方向に揺動する際に生じる最大荷重方向との間に配置され、且つ、
前記伝達アームの揺動支点は、現気筒の前記揺動カムが閉弁方向に揺動する際に生じる
制御シャフトの回転トルクに対して、次気筒の揺動カムが開弁方向に揺動する際に生じる
制御シャフトの回転トルクの方向が逆転する方向に配置される
ことを特徴とする内燃機関の可変動弁装置。 - 前記気筒毎の伝達アームの揺動支点は、現気筒の伝達アームの揺動支点に前記揺動カム
が閉弁方向に揺動する際に生じる最大荷重が発生するタイミングよりも早く、次気筒が開
弁動作を開始する、もしくは、次気筒の揺動カムが開弁方向に揺動する際に生じる最大荷
重が発生するタイミングよりも遅く、現気筒が閉弁動作を終了するように設定されること
を特徴とする請求項1に記載の内燃機関の可変動弁装置。
