Description
本発明の原理によれば、高精細度テレビジョン受信機の復調器は、第1の構成の場合、第1のダイナミック・レンジを有する出力信号を生成するように動作することができ、第2の構成の場合、第1のダイナミック・レンジとは異なる第2のダイナミック・レンジを有する出力信号を生成するように動作することができる、信号を受信するための第1の回路要素を含んでいる。第2の回路要素は、実質的に所定の固定ダイナミック・レンジを有する信号を最適に処理するように構成されている。利得制御回路が、第1の回路要素と第2の回路要素の間に結合され、前記実質的に所定の固定ダイナミック・レンジを有する信号を生成する。
Claims (16)
- 高精細度テレビジョン受信機の復調器であって、
搬送波トラッキング・ループを含み、信号を受信して、当該受信された信号を処理してベースバンド信号を生成する受信回路であって、当該受信回路は第1の構成または第2の構成を有し、前記第1の構成が搬送波トラッキング・ループに結合された整合フィルタを含み、前記第2の構成が搬送波トラッキング・ループよりも前段に整合フィルタを含んでおらず、前記第1の構成では、第1のダイナミック・レンジを有する出力信号を生成するように動作し、前記第2の構成では、第1のダイナミック・レンジとは異なる第2のダイナミック・レンジを有する出力信号を生成するように動作する、前記受信回路と、
シンボル・タイミング・ループを含み、予測された所定の信号レベル点を有する信号を処理し、シンボルを表す信号のシーケンスを生成することによって、受信したデータを判定するように構成された、処理回路と、
前記受信回路と処理回路との間に結合された適応型の利得制御回路であって、前記処理回路からの信号に応答して当該適応型の利得制御回路の利得を調節することによって、前記第1のダイナミック・レンジまたは第2のダイナミック・レンジの何れか一方を有する前記受信回路の前記出力信号を処理し、前記予測された所定の信号レベル点を有する信号を生成する、前記適応型の利得制御回路と、
を含む、前記復調器。 - 前記第1および第2のダイナミック・レンジが、前記予測された所定の信号レベル点よりも広い、請求項1記載の復調器。
- 前記処理回路が、所定の固定信号レベルを有する判定点に基づいて判定を行う判定指向型回路要素を含む、請求項1に記載の復調器。
- 前記利得制御回路が、切換え可能な固定利得を有するように当該利得制御回路を動作させるための利得制御信号に応答する、請求項1に記載の復調器。
- 前記利得制御信号が復調器の外部から供給される、請求項4に記載の復調器。
- 前記適応型の利得制御回路が、前記信号に応じた利得調節信号を生成し、前記利得調節信号に応答して当該適応型の利得制御回路の利得を調節する検出器を含む、請求項1に記載の復調器。
- 前記適応型の利得制御回路が、利得調節信号を累積し、前記累積に応答して当該適応型の利得制御回路の利得を調節するアキュムレータを更に含む、請求項7に記載の復調器。
- 前記適応型の利得制御回路が、前記信号としての前記シンボルを表す信号のシーケンスに応答して利得を調節する、請求項1に記載の復調器。
- 前記シンボルを表す信号のシーケンスが、一定数のシンボルを含むセグメント同期部分をそれぞれ含む連続したセグメントとして構成され、
前記適応型の利得制御回路が、前記セグメント同期部分の全てまたは一部に応答して利得を調節する、請求項9に記載の復調器。 - 前記処理回路がセグメント同期信号を生成する同期検出器を更に含み、
前記適応型の利得制御回路が、前記シンボルを表す信号のシーケンスおよび前記セグメント同期信号に応答して、セグメント同期部分に応じて利得を調節する、請求項10に記載の復調器。 - 前記シンボルを表す信号のシーケンスが、連続したセグメントとして構成され、更に一定数のセグメントを含むフィールド同期部分をそれぞれ含む複数のフィールドに構成され、
前記適応型の利得制御回路が、前記フィールド同期部分の全てまたは一部に応答して利得を調節する、請求項9に記載の復調器。 - 前記処理回路がフィールド同期信号を生成する同期検出器を更に含み、
前記適応型の利得制御回路が、前記シンボルを表す信号のシーケンスおよび前記フィールド同期信号に応答して、フィールド同期部分に応じて利得を調節する、請求項12に記載の復調器。 - 前記適応型の利得制御回路が、前記シンボルを表す信号のシーケンスに応答して理想シンボルを表す信号の対応するシーケンスを生成するスライサを更に含み、
前記適応型の利得制御回路が、前記シンボルを表す信号のシーケンスおよび前記対応する理想シンボルを表す信号のシーケンスに応答して利得を調節する、請求項9に記載の復調器。 - 前記適応型の利得制御回路中の前記利得検出器が、
y=x*(xs−x)
に従って動作し、ここで、yは利得調節信号、xはシンボルを表す信号、xsはxに対応する理想シンボルを表す信号である、請求項14に記載の復調器。 - 前記適応型の利得制御回路の利得検出器が、
y=sign(x)*(xs−x)
に従って動作し、ここで、yは利得調節信号、xはシンボルを表す信号、xsはxに対応する理想シンボルを表す信号、sign(.)はサイン関数である、請求項14に記載の復調器。
