Description
(i)針で貫通可能で針開口をそこに形成し且つ熱で再シール可能で所定の波長及びパワーのレーザ照射の印加によって針開口を気密シールする針貫通領域を規定する熱可塑性ストッパを提供するステップであって、ストッパがさらに、その軸方向に所定の壁厚を規定する熱可塑性ボディを備え且つスチレンブロックコポリマとオレフィンとを含む、ステップと、
(ii)熱可塑性ストッパに、ボディが所定の波長でレーザ照射を実質的に吸収し且つその所定の壁厚を照射が通過することを実質的に妨げる所定の量の顔料を提供するステップと、
(iii)ストッパをバイアルの開放端に接続し、ストッパとバイアルとの間にシールされたチャンバを規定するステップと、
(iv)非芯の円錐状先端と、先端に隣接して位置し且つ所定の薬剤のソースと流体連通的に接続可能な少なくとも一つの流れ開口とを規定する針を準備するステップと、
(v)針の流れ開口がバイアルのチャンバと流体連通するように、ストッパの針貫通領域を針の円錐状先端で貫通するステップと、
(vi)針とストッパとの界面に潤滑剤を提供して、それらの間の摩擦力を低減するステップと、
(vii)所定の薬剤を針を通してバイアルのチャンバに導入し、且つ針をストッパから引き抜くステップと、
(viii)所定の波長及びパワーでレーザ照射をストッパの針貫通領域に伝達し、その針貫通領域に形成された針開口を約2秒より短い時間期間で気密シールするステップと、
を包含する。
2〜2248が、各ストッパが再シールを生じるのに十分なだけ加熱されたかどうかを判定するように、各ストッパの温度を検出する。休止後に、プロセスが繰り返される。すなわち、4つのスターホイール2152、2154、2156、2158は他の4箇所でインデックスし、それから再び休止して、次の4つのコンテナが充填され、さらに4つのコンテナがシールされる。
Claims (15)
- 物質を受け入れるためのチャンバと、チャンバと流体連通する熱可塑性部とを備えるデバイスであって、
針で貫通可能で針開口をそこに形成し且つ熱で再シール可能で所定の波長及びパワーのレーザ照射の印加によって前記針開口を気密シールする針貫通領域を規定する熱可塑性部は、
その軸方向に所定の壁厚を規定し、且つ、(i)第1の重量割合でスチレンブロックコポリマを含み第1の伸びを規定する第1のポリマ材料と、(ii)第1の重量割合よりも少ない第2の重量割合でエチレンアルファ−オレフィン、ポリオレフィン、オレフィンの内の少なくとも1つを含み、第1の伸びよりも小さい第2の伸びを規定する第2のポリマ材料と、(iii)前記ボディが前記所定の波長でレーザ照射を実質的に吸収し且つその前記所定の壁厚を照射が通過することを実質的に妨げて、約2秒より短い所定の時間期間でその前記針貫通領域に形成された針開口を気密シールすることを可能にする量の顔料と、(iv)針の貫通の間に前記針とボディとの界面における摩擦力を低減する量の潤滑剤と、を含む、デバイス。 - 前記第1の材料が前記第2の材料よりも高い溶融温度を規定する、請求項1に記載のデバイス。
- 前記第1の重量割合は、約80重量%から約97重量%の範囲内で、第2の重量割合は約3重量%から約20重量%の範囲内である請求項2に記載のデバイス。
- 前記第1の材料が約10ポンドの力で少なくとも約75%の第1の伸びを規定する、請求項1に記載のデバイス。
- 前記所定の波長が約980nmである、請求項1に記載のデバイス。
- 前記所定のパワーが約30ワットよりも少ない、請求項1に記載のデバイス。
- 前記顔料の量が約0.3重量%から約0.6重量%の範囲内である、請求項1に記載のデバイス。
- 前記潤滑剤が、シリコーン、鉱油、及びシリコーンオイルを含むグループから選択される、請求項1に記載のデバイス。
- 前記潤滑剤がシリコーンオイルであり、前記潤滑剤の量が約0.4重量%から約0.6重量%の範囲内である、請求項1に記載のデバイス。
- 前記熱可塑性部を貫通する針と組み合わされ、前記針が、約15度から約25度の範囲内の内角を規定する非芯の円錐状先端を含む、請求項1に記載のデバイス。
- 前記針が、その貫通の間に前記針と熱可塑性部との間の摩擦力を低減するための低摩擦外部表面を含む、請求項10に記載のデバイス。
- 前記低摩擦表面が、タングステンカーバイド表面、電解研磨されたステンレス鋼表面、及びチタン表面を含むグループから選択される、請求項11に記載のデバイス。
- デバイスに物質を供給し且つ充填する方法で、
チャンバと、針で貫通可能で針開口をそこに形成し且つ熱で再シール可能で所定の波長及びパワーのレーザ照射の印加によって前記針開口を気密シールする針貫通領域を規定する熱可塑性部とを提供するステップであって、前記熱可塑性部がさらに、その軸方向に所定の壁厚を規定し、
(i)第1の重量割合でスチレンブロックコポリマを含み第1の伸びを規定する第1のポリマ材料と、(ii)第1の重量割合よりも少ない第2の重量割合でエチレンアルファオレフィン、ポリオレフィン、オレフィンの内の少なくとも1つを含み、第1の伸びよりも小さい第2の伸びを規定する第2のポリマ材料と、(iii)前記所定の波長でレーザ照射を実質的に吸収し且つその前記所定の壁厚を照射が通過することを実質的に妨げる所定の量の顔料とを含む熱可塑性ボディを備える、ステップと、
非芯の円錐状先端と、前記先端に隣接して位置し前記物質の源と流体連通的に接続可能な少なくとも一つの流れ開口とを規定する針を準備するステップと、
前記針の前記流れ開口が前記デバイスの前記チャンバと流体連通するように、前記熱可塑性部の前記針貫通領域を前記針の円錐状先端で貫通し、前記針を貫通させる際に前記熱可塑性部から前記チャンバの中に放出される粒子の形成を実質的に防止するステップと、
前記針と前記熱可塑性部との界面に潤滑剤を提供して、それらの間の摩擦力を低減するステップと、
前記針を通して前記物質を前記デバイスの前記チャンバに導入し、前記針を前記針貫通領域から引き抜き、前記針を引き抜く際に前記熱可塑性部から前記チャンバの中に放出される粒子の形成を実質的に防止するステップと、

- 前記熱可塑性部とチャンバを形成するデバイスのボディとを実質的な層流の元でプラスチックからモールドするステップと、前記熱可塑性部と前記ボディとを周囲温度まで冷却させる前に前記熱可塑性部と前記ボディとを組み合わせて、それらの間にシールされた無菌で発熱源を含まないチャンバを形成するステップと、をさらに包含する、請求項13に記載の方法。
