Description
しかしながら、インド国特許第190657号記載のようなスペーサーデバイスにおいて、不測の呼息中に、スペーサーチャンバー内の投与量が湿った呼気で希釈され、その結果薬剤送達の効力が減少される。
弁は呼気に対する障壁として作動する。
好ましくは、弁は非常に低い吸気流量でも操作可能である。弁は、25ml/分未満の吸気流量での動作、例えば15〜 25ml/分、又はそれ未満が好ましい。従って、ユーザーのわずかな吸気によってでさえ完全な弁開放が生じる。
スペーサーの排出口は、好ましくは、弁を保護する手段を含み、弁の損傷を防ぐ。保護手段は、種々の設計が可能であるが、適切には、排出口に架かるグリッドを含む。
スペーサーのチャンバーは、例えばポリアミドなどの帯電防止性プラスチック材料などの帯電防止性非金属材料で作られるのが好ましい。弁は、同じ材料からでも作ることができる。
またスペーサーは、1つ以上の通気口を含むのが好ましい。これらの通気口は好ましくは、排出口を担持するチャンバー部材の先細り端部に位置し、大気へのいかなる呼気排出を可能にする。
揮発性媒体中の薬剤の吸入のための本発明によるスペーサーデバイスの使用もまた提供される。
更にスペーサーデバイスには、スペーサーデバイスの排出口を覆うキャップ(120)が設けられる。このキャップは、スペーサーデバイスに連結されるのが好ましい。
図2に大まかに示されたマウスピースアセンブリは、バタフライ弁(106)と、連結された保護手段(図2に非表示)とを共に含む。
使用において、呼気口102は例えばエアゾール薬容器に連結され、吸入薬投与量はチャンバー110内にポンプ注入される。患者は排出口104を口内に配置し、安定的に吸引して薬剤を肺に引き込む。
図8及び図9は、上述の各種機能の更なる例示を提供する。

Claims (20)
- 薬剤含有揮発性媒体の経口投与のための定量投与吸入器と共に使用するのに好適なスペーサーデバイス(100)であって、薬剤の定量投与を可能にする吸気口(102)及び口の中に入れられる排出口(104)を有するチャンバー(110)を含み、該スペーサーの該排出口が弁(106)を有し、該弁(106)が2つのフラップ(108)からなるフラップ構造を有し、各々のフラップが患者の吸入に応じて軸周りに回転自在に設けられる前記スペーサーデバイス。
- 前記弁が15〜25ml/分又はそれ未満の低い呼気流量で動作する、請求項1記載のデバイス。
- 前記弁が15〜25ml/分又はそれ未満の低い吸気流量で動作する、請求項1又は2記載のデバイス。
- 前記弁が閉鎖時に可聴音を発する、請求項1、2、又は3記載のデバイス。
- 前記排出口が前記弁の保護手段を含む、請求項1から4のいずれか1項記載のデバイス。
- 前記弁の前記保護手段が、前記排出口に架かるグリッドを含む、請求項5記載のデバイス。
- 前記チャンバーが帯電防止性の非金属材料で作られた、請求項1〜6のいずれか1項記載のデバイス。
- 前記チャンバーが帯電防止性のプラスチック材料で作られた、請求項1〜7のいずれか1項記載のデバイス。
- 前記チャンバーがポリアミドで作られた、請求項8記載のデバイス。
- 前記弁が任意の硬質プラスチック又は帯電防止性の非金属材料で作られた、請求項1〜9のいずれか1項記載のデバイス。
- 前記弁が、アセチルコポリマー又はポリアミドで作られた、請求項1〜10記載のデバイス。
- 前記チャンバーが、同軸上にそれらの末広端で共に組立てられた二つの円錐台部材を含み、前記吸気口及び排出口がそれぞれ反対の先細り端部にある、請求項1〜11記載のデバイス。
- 一方の前記部材の末広端がもう一方の前記部材の末広端で受けられ、実質的に気密性封かんを提供する、請求項12記載のデバイス。
- 前記末広端が、相補的に段の付いた表面を有して、気密性嵌合を提供する、請求項13記載のデバイス。
- 係止手段が、前記二つの部材を共に組み立てるように固定するために設けられる、請求項12、13、又は14記載のデバイス。
- 前記吸気口が前記チャンバー内部で突出する、請求項1〜15記載のデバイス。
- 前記排出口がマウスピースを含む、請求項1〜16記載のデバイス。
- 前記マウスピースが更にキャップを含む、請求項17記載のデバイス。
- 前記キャップが前記スペーサーデバイスに装着されるか、或いは取り外し可能なキャップである、請求項18記載のデバイス。
- 揮発性媒体中の薬剤を定量投与するための吸入器と、請求項1〜19のいずれか1項記載のスペーサーデバイスとの組み合わせ体。
