前記電気デバイス要素の周縁部を覆う枠状の保護部材をさらに備え、
前記枠状の保護部材は、
前記リードを挿通する開口を有し、
前記電極延出部と前記リードとの接合部における前記電極延出部の角と前記リードの角とを覆う保護部と、前記電気デバイス要素の前記電極延出部が形成された辺とは異なる辺を覆う保護部と、をさらに含む
本発明の他の態様のフィルム外装電気デバイスは、正極リード、複数の正極板、該複数の正極板の各々から延出された複数の正極延出部、負極リード、複数の負極板、該複数の負極板の各々から延出された複数の負極延出部、およびセパレータを有し、前記正極板と前記負極板が前記セパレータを介して交互に積層され、前記複数の正極延出部が前記正極リードに接合され、前記複数の負極延出部が前記負極リードに接合された電気デバイス要素と、
金属層、および該金属層の一面に形成された熱融着層を有し、該熱融着層を内側にして前記電気デバイス要素を包囲し、対向する前記熱融着層同士が熱融着された外装体フィルムと、
前記正極リードに接合された前記正極延出部の一部である第一の接合部と、
前記負極リードに接合された前記負極延出部の一部である第二の接合部と、を有するフィルム外装電気デバイスにおいて、
前記第一の接合部における前記正極延出部の角と前記正極リードの角の各々またはいずれか一方と、少なくとも該角を覆う部分の前記熱融着層と、の間に保護部材が配置され、かつ、
前記第二の接合部における前記負極延出部の角と前記負極リードの角の各々またはいずれか一方と、少なくとも該角を覆う部分の前記熱融着層と、の間にも保護部材が配置されていることを特徴とする。
正・負極リードの材料には、Al、Cu、Ni、Ti、Fe、燐青銅、真鍮、ステンレスなどを用いることができる。必要に応じて焼き鈍し処理を施してもよい。正・負極リードの厚さは、0.08〜1.0mmが好ましい。
外装体は、電解液が漏洩しないように電池要素を覆うことが可能であって柔軟性を有するものであれば特に限定されるものではないが、金属層と熱融着層とが積層されたラミネートフィルムが特に好ましく用いられる。この種のラミネートフィルムとしては、例えば、厚さ10μm〜100μmの金属箔上に、厚さ3μm〜200μmの熱融着層を形成したものが使用できる。金属箔の材料としては、Al、Ti、Ti系合金、Fe、ステンレス、Mg系合金などが使用できる。熱融着層の材料としては、ポリプロピレン、ポリエチレン、これらの酸変成物、ポリフェニレンサルファイド、ポリエチレンテレフタレートなどのポリエステル、ポリアミド、エチレン−酢酸ビニル共重合体などが使用できる。また、保護層の材料としては、ナイロンなどのポリアミド、PET、ポリエチレンナフタレート(PEN)などのポリエステル、ポリプロピレンなどが使用できる。
正極板は、放電時に正イオンを吸収するもの又は負イオンを放出するものであれば特に限定されず、次の(1)〜(3)のような公知の正極材料のいずれも使用することができる。
(1)LiMnO2、LiMn2O4、LiCoO2、LiNiO2等の金属酸化物
(2)ポリアセチレン、ポリアニリン等の導電性高分子
(3)一般式(R−Sm)n(Rは脂肪族または芳香族、Sは硫黄であり、m、nは、m≧1、n≧1の整数である)で示されるジスルフィド化合物(ジチオグリコール、2、5−ジメルカプト−1、3、4−チアジアゾール、S−トリアジン−2、4、6−トリチオール等)
また、正極板に正極活物質(図示せず)を適当な結着剤や機能性材料と混合して形成することもできる。結着剤としては、ポリフッ化ビニリデン等のハロゲン含有高分子等が、機能性材料としては、電子伝導性を確保するためのアセチレンブラック、ポリピロール、ポリアニリン等の導電性高分子、イオン伝導性を確保するための高分子電解質、それらの複合体等が挙げられる。
(1)天然黒鉛、石炭、石油ピッチ等を高温で熱処理して得られる黒鉛化炭素等の結晶質カーボン
(2)石炭、石油ピッチコークス、アセチレンピッチコークス等を熱処理して得られる非晶質カーボン
(3)金属リチウムやAlLi等のリチウム合金
電池要素に含浸される電解液としては、例えば、エチレンカーボネート、プロピレンカーボネート、ジメチルカーボネート、ジエチルカーボネート、メチルエチルカーボネート、γ―ブチロラクトン、N,N’−ジメチルホルムアミド、ジメチルスルホキシド、N−メチルピロリドン、m−クレゾール等の、二次電池の電解液として利用可能な極性の高い塩基性溶媒に、LiやK、Na等のアルカリ金属のカチオンと、ClO4 -、BF4 -、PF6 -、CF3SO3 -、(CF3SO2)2N-、(C2F5SO2)2N-、(CF3SO2)3C-、(C2F5SO2)3C-等のハロゲンを含む化合物のアニオンとからなる塩を溶解したものが挙げられる。また、これらの塩基性溶媒からなる溶剤や電解質塩を単独、あるいは複数組み合わせて用いることもできる。また、ゲル状電解質(電解液を含むポリマーゲル)でのよい。また、スルホラン、ジオキサン、ジオキソラン、1,3―プロパンスルトン、テトラヒドロフラン、ビニレンカーボネートなどを微量添加してもよい。

- フィルム外装電気デバイスであって、
セパレータと、前記セパレータを介して交互に積層された複数の正極板および複数の負極板と、前記複数の正極板および複数の負極板の各々から延出された複数の電極延出部と、前記複数の電極延出部と接合されたリードとを有する電気デバイス要素と、
金属層と前記金属層の一面に形成された熱融着層を有し、前記熱融着層を前記電気デバイス要素に対向させて前記電気デバイス要素を包囲する外装フィルムであって外装フィルムの対向する前記熱融着層同士が熱融着された前記外装フィルムと、を備え、
前記電気デバイス要素の周縁部を覆う枠状の保護部材をさらに備え、
前記枠状の保護部材は、
前記リードを挿通する開口を有し、
前記電極延出部と前記リードとの接合部における前記電極延出部の角と前記リードの角とを覆う保護部と、前記電気デバイス要素の前記電極延出部が形成された辺とは異なる辺を覆う保護部と、をさらに含むフィルム外装電気デバイス。 - 前記保護部材が伸縮性を有する材料で形成されている、請求項1に記載のフィルム外装電気デバイス。
