Description

(b)例えば、約8の炭素原子から約50の炭素原子までを有し、1つまたは複数のエテニルまたはエチニル結合により共役された1、2またはそれ以上の芳香環などの少なくとも1つの芳香環、例えば−C6H4−CH=CH−C6H4−および−C6H4−C≡C−C6H4−;または、
(c)例えば、約10から約50までの炭素原子を有する縮合芳香環、例えば1,4−C10H6および1,5−C10H6。
[コア−単一シェル粒子]
乳化重合から生成される、フォトクロミック材料と、光吸収材料とを含むポリマ粒子から構成されるコア/シェルラテックスエマルジョンを下記のように調製した。テイカ(Tayca)アニオン界面活性剤3gおよび脱イオン水250gをステンレス鋼保持タンク中で混合し、水性界面活性剤相を形成させた。保持タンクを、窒素でパージし、その後、反応器内に移した。反応器をその後、100RPMで撹拌しながら、連続して窒素でパージした。反応器をその後、制御した速度で80℃まで加熱し、その温度で維持した。別に、過硫酸アンモニウム開始剤1.05gおよび脱イオン水の溶液を調製した。別に、メチルメタクリレート31g、テイカアニオン界面活性剤1.75g、脱イオン水34g、およびフォトクロミック材料である3−(3,3,4,4,5,5−ヘキサフルオロ−2−(2−メトキシ−5−フェニルチオフェン−3−イル)シクロペント−1−エニル)−2−メチル−5−フェニルチオフェン3gを含む第1のモノマエマルジョンを調製する。メチルメタクリレート31g、テイカアニオン界面活性剤1.75g、脱イオン水34g、およびネプツンゲルブ(Neptun Gelb)075(BASF由来、イエロー染料)3gを含む第2の「シェル」モノマ溶液を調製する。10重量%の第1のモノマ溶液を徐々に、80℃の水性界面活性剤相を含む反応器に送り込み、窒素でパージしながら「種」を形成させた。その後、開始剤溶液を徐々に反応器に添加し、10分後、第1のモノマエマルジョンの残りを、計量ポンプを用いて0.5%/分の速度で連続して送り込んだ。第1のモノマエマルジョンがすべて、主反応器に添加された時点で、第2のシェルモノマエマルジョンを、計量ポンプを使用して0.5%/分の速度で連続して送り込んだ。第2のシェルモノマエマルジョンがすべて主反応器に添加された時点で、温度を80℃でさらに2時間維持し、反応を完了させた。その後、完全に冷却させ、反応器温度を35℃まで低下させる。ラテックス粒子をその後、別々に乾燥させる。

Claims (4)
- (a)バインダと、
(b)フォトクロミック材料と、
(c)光吸収材料と、
を含む複数の粒子を有し、
前記粒子はコアおよびシェルを有し、
前記シェルは単一シェルであり、前記フォトクロミック材料は前記コア中に存在し、前記光吸収材料は前記単一シェル中に存在する、または、
前記シェルは外側シェルと内側シェルとを有し、前記フォトクロミック材料は前記コアもしくは前記内側シェル、または前記コアと前記内側シェルの両方に存在し、前記光吸収材料は前記外側シェル中に存在する画像再形成可能な媒体。 - 基材をさらに有する、請求項1記載の画像再形成可能な媒体。
- 前記粒子およびフィルム形成バインダを含むフィルムをさらに有し、別の基材が前記媒体に存在しない、請求項1記載の画像再形成可能な媒体。
- 前記光吸収材料はイエロー着色剤を含む、請求項1記載の画像再形成可能な媒体。
