発明2において、「光学活性な配位子を有する2価カチオン性の遷移金属錯体」が「光学活性な配位子を有する2価カチオン性のパラジウム錯体」であることを特徴とする、発明2に記載の光学活性芳香族複素5員環置換ヒドロキシ酢酸エステルの製造方法。

- 一般式[1]
[式中、R1はアルキル基を表す]で示されるグリオキシル酸エステルと、一般式[2]
[式中、R2はアルキル基、置換アルキル基、アルケニル基、置換アルケニル基、アリール基、置換アリール基、アルコキシカルボニル基、アルコキシ基、ハロゲン原子またはトリアルキルシリル基を表し、nはR2の置換基数を表し、0から3の任意の整数を採り、任意の炭素原子上に任意の組み合わせで置換することができる(nが0の場合は、芳香族複素5員環上の3つの置換基が全て水素原子であることを意味し、nが2以上の場合は、R2はそれぞれ独立に上記の置換基を採ることができる)。R3、R4およびR5はそれぞれ独立にアルキル基、アリール基またはアルコキシ基を表し、Xはアミノ基(NH)、アルキルアミノ基(NR;Rはアルキル基を表す)、アミノ保護体(NP;Pはアミノ保護基を表す)、酸素原子または硫黄原子を表す]で示されるシリル化芳香族複素5員環を「光学活性な配位子を有する2価カチオン性のパラジウム錯体」の存在下に反応させ、引き続いて加水分解することにより、一般式[3]
[式中、R1、R2、nおよびXは上記と同じであり、*は不斉炭素を表す]で示される光学活性芳香族複素5員環置換ヒドロキシ酢酸エステルを製造する方法。
