Description
図2は、実施例1に係る液晶表示装置LCDにおける、図1の符号「A」で示した範囲を拡大した平面図である。画像表示領域DISPには、列方向に延在する複数のデータ線DLと、行方向に延在する複数のゲート線GLとが設けられている。複数のデータ線DLは行方向に略等間隔で配置され、複数のゲート線GLは列方向に略等間隔で配置されている。タッチパネル駆動配線TPRは、平面的に見て、データ線DLに重なるように配置されている。なお、図2では、便宜上、タッチパネル駆動配線TPRとデータ線DLとをずらして示している。各データ線DLと各ゲート線GLとの各交差部には、薄膜トランジスタTFT(Thin Film Transistor)が設けられている。隣り合う2本のデータ線DLと、隣り合う2本のゲート線GLとで区画された領域が1つの画素領域となる。各タッチ電極領域TPMには、複数の画素領域が含まれる。複数の画素電極は、複数のグループに分割されており、1つのタッチ電極領域TPM及びタッチパネル電極は、1つのグループに含まれる複数の画素電極に対して1つの割合で配置されている。端部のタッチ電極領域TPM(例えばタッチ電極領域TPM1)は、駆動回路領域GIPに重なるように配置されている。行方向に隣り合う2つのタッチ電極領域TPM、及び、列方向に隣り合う2つのタッチ電極領域TPMはそれぞれ、互いに電気的に分離している。
図12は、実施例2に係る液晶表示装置LCDにおける、図1の符号「A」で示した範囲を拡大した平面図である。実施例2に係る液晶表示装置LCDでは、主に、実施例1に係る液晶表示装置LCDと比較して、タッチパネル電極TPDの下に透明タッチパネル電極TPDITが形成されている。
図16は、実施例3に係る液晶表示装置LCDにおける、図1の符号「A」で示した範囲を拡大した平面図である。実施例3に係る液晶表示装置LCDでは、主に、実施例1に係る液晶表示装置LCDと比較して、カラーフィルタCFR,CFG,CFBがTFT基板に形成されており、所謂カラーフィルタオンアレイ(COA)の構成を有している。
図22は、実施例4に係る液晶表示装置LCDにおける、図1の符号「A」で示した範囲を拡大した平面図である。実施例4に係る液晶表示装置LCDでは、主に、実施例1に係る液晶表示装置LCDと比較して、タッチパネル電極TPDの下に透明タッチパネル電極TPDITが形成されており、かつ、カラーフィルタCFR,CFG,CFBがTFT基板に形成されており、所謂カラーフィルタオンアレイ(COA)の構成を有している。
図26は、実施例5に係る液晶表示装置LCDにおける、図1の符号「A」で示した範囲を拡大した平面図である。実施例5に係る液晶表示装置LCDでは、主に、実施例2に係る液晶表示装置LCDと比較して、タッチパネル電極TPDが省略されている。
図30は、実施例6に係る液晶表示装置LCDにおける、図1の符号「A」で示した範囲を拡大した平面図である。実施例6に係る液晶表示装置LCDでは、主に、実施例4に係る液晶表示装置LCDと比較して、タッチパネル電極TPDが省略されている。
図34は、実施例7に係る液晶表示装置LCDの全体構成の概略を示す平面図である。図1に示す液晶表示装置LCDでは、自己容量方式の構成を有しているが、本発明はこれに限定されず、相互容量方式の構成を有していてもよい。実施例7に係る液晶表示装置LCDは、相互容量方式の構成を有しており、例えば、指等の導体FINが近付くと、タッチパネル電極あるいはタッチ電極領域TPMと、検知電極領域RXEの電極との間の静電容量の変化を検知してタッチ位置の座標を検出する。タッチパネル電極に接続されるタッチパネル駆動配線TPRは、タッチ電極ドライバTPMICに接続され、検知電極領域RXEに接続される検知電極駆動配線RXLIは、検知電極ドライバRXICに接続されている。
Claims (17)
- 複数のゲート線と、複数のデータ線と、複数の画素電極と、複数のタッチセンサ電極とを含む第1基板と、
前記第1基板に対向配置される第2基板と、
を含み、
前記第1基板は、前記第2基板よりもタッチ動作側に配置されており、
前記複数のタッチセンサ電極の一部は、画像表示領域の外に位置する周辺領域に配置されている、
ことを特徴とするタッチ検出機能付表示装置。 - 前記複数のタッチセンサ電極のうち、前記画像表示領域の端部に配置される複数のタッチセンサ電極は、前記画像表示領域と前記周辺領域とに跨って配置されている、
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のタッチ検出機能付表示装置。 - 前記第1基板において、前記複数のタッチセンサ電極は、前記複数のゲート線、前記複数のデータ線、及び前記複数の画素電極よりもタッチ動作側に配置されている、
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のタッチ検出機能付表示装置。 - 平面的に見て、前記ゲート線が延在する方向に隣り合う2つの前記タッチセンサ電極の第1の境界は、前記データ線に重ならない位置に配置されており、かつ、前記データ線が延在する方向に隣り合う2つの前記タッチセンサ電極の第2の境界は、前記ゲート線に重ならない位置に配置されている、
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のタッチ検出機能付表示装置。 - 前記第1基板は、さらに、前記複数の画素電極に対向配置された共通電極を含み、
平面的に見て、前記タッチセンサ電極における前記第1及び第2の境界は、前記共通電極に覆われている、
ことを特徴とする請求項4に記載のタッチ検出機能付表示装置。 - 前記第1基板は、さらに、前記複数のタッチセンサ電極のそれぞれに電気的に接続された複数のタッチセンサ電極線を含み、
1本の前記タッチセンサ電極線は、絶縁膜を介して、1つの前記タッチセンサ電極に電気的に接続されている、
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のタッチ検出機能付表示装置。 - 前記複数の画素電極は、複数のグループに分割されており、
1つの前記タッチセンサ電極は、1つの前記グループに含まれる複数の画素電極に対して1つの割合で配置されている、
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のタッチ検出機能付表示装置。 - 前記複数のタッチセンサ電極は、遮光性を有する金属材料で構成されており、
平面的に見て、前記複数のタッチセンサ電極は、前記複数のゲート線及び前記複数のデータ線に重なるように配置され、かつ、前記複数の画素電極に重なる位置に開口部が形成されている、
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のタッチ検出機能付表示装置。 - 前記複数のタッチセンサ電極は、透明電極材料で構成されている、
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のタッチ検出機能付表示装置。 - 前記複数のタッチセンサ電極は、遮光性を有する金属材料で構成された複数の第1タッチセンサ電極と、透明電極材料で構成された複数の第2タッチセンサ電極とを含み、
平面的に見て、前記複数の第1タッチセンサ電極は、前記複数のゲート線及び前記複数のデータ線に重なるように配置され、かつ、前記複数の画素電極に重なる位置に開口部が形成されており、
平面的に見て、前記各第2タッチセンサ電極は、前記各第1タッチセンサ電極を覆うように配置されている、
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のタッチ検出機能付表示装置。 - 前記第1基板は、さらに、前記複数の画素電極に対向配置された複数の共通電極を含み、
1つの前記共通電極は、絶縁膜を介して、1つの前記タッチセンサ電極に電気的に接続されている、
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のタッチ検出機能付表示装置。 - 平面的に見て、前記ゲート線が延在する方向に隣り合う2つの前記共通電極の境界は、前記データ線に重なる位置に配置されており、かつ、前記データ線が延在する方向に隣り合う2つの前記共通電極の境界は、前記ゲート線に重なる位置に配置されている、
ことを特徴とする請求項11に記載のタッチ検出機能付表示装置。 - 前記第1基板は、さらに、カラーフィルタを含む、
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のタッチ検出機能付表示装置。 - 前記複数のタッチセンサ電極は、前記画像表示領域及び前記周辺領域において、ガラス基板上に形成され、
前記複数のタッチセンサ電極を覆うように第1絶縁膜が形成され、
前記第1絶縁膜上に、前記複数のゲート線が形成され、
前記複数のゲート線を覆うように第2絶縁膜が形成され、
前記第2絶縁膜上に、前記複数のデータ線が形成され、
前記複数のデータ線を覆うように第3絶縁膜が形成され、
前記第3絶縁膜上に、前記複数の画素電極が形成されている、
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のタッチ検出機能付表示装置。 - 前記周辺領域において、前記第1絶縁膜上に、前記複数のゲート線に電気的に接続される複数の引出線が形成されている、
ことを特徴とする請求項14に記載のタッチ検出機能付表示装置。 - バックライトをさらに含み、
前記第2基板は、前記第1基板よりも前記バックライト側に配置されている、
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のタッチ検出機能付表示装置。 - 前記周辺領域は、前記複数のゲート線のそれぞれにゲート信号を出力する駆動回路が配置された駆動回路領域を含み、
平面的に見て、前記複数のタッチセンサ電極の一部は、前記駆動回路領域に重なっている、
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のタッチ検出機能付表示装置。
