Description
リチウムイオンを吸蔵・放出することが可能な正極活物質を有する正極と、
リチウムイオンを吸蔵・放出することが可能な負極活物質を有する負極と、
前記正極および前記負極の間に介在するセパレータと、
比誘電率が20以上の極性溶媒を含む非水電解質と、
を備え、
前記正極活物質を構成する正極活物質粒子の表面には、炭素化合物を含む被覆層が形成され、かつ、前記被覆層には、酸性官能基が含まれており、
前記正極活物質および前記被覆層からなる複合体に占める前記酸性官能基の量は、0.004mmol/g以上0.0062mmol/g以下であり、
前記複合体に占める前記被覆層の割合は、0.1重量%以上5重量%以下であることを特徴とする。
(酸性官能基量の測定)
正極活物質として、リン酸鉄リチウム粒子の表面に、酸性官能基を有する炭素化合物を含む被覆層が形成されたリン酸鉄リチウムの粉末(以下、LFP粉末と呼ぶ)を用意した。表面に被覆層が形成された複合体であるリン酸鉄リチウム粒子の平均粒径D50は、1μm以上11μm以下であり、比表面積は、10m2/g以上12m2/g以下であった。
続いて、上述したLFP粉末の他に、導電助剤としてアセチレンブラック(AB)を、バインダとしてポリフッ化ビニリデン(PVdF)を用意し、それらを重量比で、LFP粉末:AB:PVdFが85:10:5となるように、N-メチル-2-ピロリドン(NMP)中に分散させて、正極スラリーを作製した。
続いて、負極活物質として天然黒鉛を、バインダとしてPVdFをそれぞれ用意し、それらを重量比で天然黒鉛:PVdFが95:5となるように、N-メチル-2-ピロリドン(NMP)中に分散させて、負極スラリーを作製した。
続いて、比誘電率が90のエチレンカーボネート(EC)と、比誘電率が2.8のエチルメチルカーボネート(EMC)の体積比がEC:EMC=25:75である混合溶媒を用意した。そして、用意した混合溶媒に、溶媒1リットル当たり1molの6フッ化燐酸リチウム(LiPF6)を溶解させ、さらにビニレンカーボネート(VC)を加えて非水電解液を作製した。ビニレンカーボネートは、作製した非水電解液の全体に対する割合が1.0重量%となるように、加える量を調整した。
上述した方法により作製した正極と負極を、セパレータを介して、交互に複数積層することにより、積層型の電池素子を作製した。セパレータには、厚さ20μmの微孔性ポリプロピレンフィルムを用いた。
作製した各電池に対して、25℃の温度条件下において、0.2CAの定電流で、電池の電圧が3.8Vに達するまで充電し、さらに3.8Vの定電圧で10時間充電を行った。
作製した各電池に対して、25℃の温度条件下において、1CAの定電流で電池の電圧が3.8Vに達するまで充電し、さらに3.8Vの定電圧で、電流が1/50CAに減衰するまで充電を行った。その後、55℃の温度条件下において、1週間エージング処理を行った。
<容量検査>
作製した各電池に対して、25℃の温度条件下において、1CAの定電流で、電池の電圧が3.5Vに達するまで充電し、さらに3.5Vの定電圧で、電流が1/50CAに減衰するまで充電を行った。
作製した各電池を25℃の温度条件下において、充電深度(SOC)が50%になるまで充電し、その後、0℃の温度条件下において、10Cの定電流で20秒間充電したときの到達電圧から直流抵抗率を算出した。そして、算出した直流抵抗率を、正極の総面積によって規格化した値を、負荷特性の指標とした。各電池について、正極の総面積によって規格化した直流抵抗率(DCR)を表1に示す。

- リチウムイオンを吸蔵・放出することが可能な正極活物質を有する正極と、
リチウムイオンを吸蔵・放出することが可能な負極活物質を有する負極と、
前記正極および前記負極の間に介在するセパレータと、
比誘電率が20以上の極性溶媒を含む非水電解質と、
を備え、
前記正極活物質を構成する正極活物質粒子の表面には、炭素化合物を含む被覆層が形成され、かつ、前記被覆層には、酸性官能基が含まれており、
前記正極活物質および前記被覆層からなる複合体に占める前記酸性官能基の量は、0.004mmol/g以上0.0062mmol/g以下であり、
前記複合体に占める前記被覆層の割合は、0.1重量%以上5重量%以下であることを特徴とするリチウムイオン二次電池。 - 前記複合体の比表面積は、9.0m2/g以上であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のリチウムイオン二次電池。
- 前記正極活物質は、化学式LixMyPzO4-δ(ただし、0.5<x/y<1.5、y/z>1、δは酸素欠損量、Mは、Fe、Mn、Co、およびNiのうちの少なくとも1種類を含む)で表されるオリビン型リン酸リチウム化合物であることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載のリチウムイオン二次電池。
