Description
しかしながら、シート上の無線タグの種類には様々なものがある。例えば無線タグの受信可能な周波数帯は国により異なる。このような場合、特定の国に対応する周波数帯の電波だけを放射可能な画像形成装置では、無線タグの種類によっては対応できない場合があった。このような使用可能な無線タグの種類の違いは国だけに依存したことではなく、地域等、画像形成装置が使用される環境に応じてさまざまに存在する。また、このような課題は、画像形成装置に限らず、シートを処理する装置に共通の課題であった。
なお以下の説明では、同一又は類似の機能を有する構成に同一の符号を付す。また、重複した構成の説明は省略する場合がある。
図2において、画像形成装置10は、制御部100、コントロールパネル13、プリンタ部18、及び無線タグ通信装置201を有する。
無線タグ通信装置201は、アンテナ600、無線タグ通信制御部501、送受信回路部502、及びインタフェース部503を備える。
なお、第1放射領域の長軸に平行な方向の一端と第2放射領域の長軸に平行な方向の一端とは必ずしも、図8に示すような一軸上に位置する(すなわち端部が揃っている)必要は無い。すなわち第1放射領域の長軸に平行な方向の一端と第2放射領域の長軸に平行な方向の一端とは図7に示すような位置関係にあってもよい。このことは、第1放射領域、第2放射領域についてだけでなく第1種追加領域についても同様である。すなわち、第1放射領域の長軸に平行な方向の一端と第1種追加領域の長軸に平行な方向の一端とは必ずしも一軸上に位置する必要は無いし、第2放射領域の長軸に平行な方向の一端と第1種追加領域の長軸に平行な方向の一端とは必ずしも一軸上に位置する必要は無い。また、第1種追加領域が複数存在する場合には、1つの第1種追加領域の長軸に平行な方向の一端と他の第1種追加領域の長軸に平行な方向の一端とは必ずしも一軸上に位置する必要は無い。しかしながら、端部が揃っている方が、利得が高いという効果を奏する。端部がそろっていない場合、放射領域の辺が多くなり電力が分散されてしまう。そのため、端部がそろっていない場合、端部が揃っている場合よりも長軸方向に流れる電力が減る。上述したように放射部位は長軸方向の長軸の長さで決まる共振周波数の電波を放射すため、長軸方向に流れる電力が多いほど、高い利得が得られる。そのため、端部が揃っている方が、端部が揃っていないよりも望ましい。

- 無線タグの搬送方向と所定の角度をなす基準方向に垂直な方向に長軸を有し前記基準方向に平行な方向に短軸を有し、前記長軸の長さが第1の長さである第1放射領域と、
前記基準方向に垂直な方向に長軸を有し前記基準方向に平行な方向に短軸を有し、前記長軸の長さが第2の長さである第2放射領域と、
前記基準方向に平行な方向に長軸を有し前記基準方向に垂直な方向に短軸を有し、前記長軸の長さが第3の長さである第3放射領域と、
前記基準方向に平行な方向に長軸を有し前記基準方向に垂直な方向に短軸を有し、前記長軸の長さが第4の長さである第4放射領域と、
を有する導体である放射素子と、
前記放射素子に前記第1放射領域、前記第2放射領域、前記第3放射領域又は前記第4放射領域の少なくともいずれか1つから偏波を放射させる放射制御部と、
を備え、
前記第1放射領域と前記第2放射領域とは前記第3放射領域又は前記第4放射領域と一部を共有し、前記第3放射領域と前記第4放射領域とは前記第1放射領域又は前記第2放射領域と一部を共有し、
前記第1放射領域から放射される偏波と、前記第2放射領域から放射される偏波と、前記第3放射領域から放射される偏波と、前記第4放射領域から放射される偏波と、は前記無線タグが受信可能である、
