Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a medium with a satisfactory characteristic by forming one sub information signal track on each extension line of a main information track. CONSTITUTION:A video track 112 is formed by recording the (N+1)-th field of a video signal by a head 213 for a second ch, and an audio track 123 is formed by separating one field period of a corresponding audio signal in the neighborhood of the video signal to two PCM recording signals and recording it by the SP head 213. Following that, an audio track 124 is formed by recording the PCM recording signal by overwriting on a part (left half) of the audio track 123 by an EP head 214 having a gap azimuth angle different from that of the SP head 213. Thus, the tracks after the video track 113 are formed and the audio tracks after an audio track 125 on the upper parts of those tracks. In other words, every audio track is formed on the upper side of each video track. In such a way, it is possible to obtain a characteristic with sufficiently high definition.

However, this method cannot be said to be sufficient in terms of quality such as continuity for each field, band, and S/N.Therefore, so-called PCM, which converts audio signals into digital codes and records and plays them, is used. It is beginning to attract attention as a method that can reproduce high-quality audio in the truest sense. If it is “8mm”
In the case of a small home-use VTR called ``Video,'' the winding of magnetic tape (hereinafter simply referred to as ``tape J'') around a rotating drum increases the angle from the standard angle of 180°, and A method is being adopted in which band-compressed digital audio signals are recorded and reproduced in units of one field.

As shown in this figure, the tape 40 is attached to the rotating drum 23.
In contrast, the standard winding is wound more than 180 degrees (for example, 36 degrees) and runs diagonally at a predetermined angle, so that the heads 21 and 22 form recording tracks diagonally with respect to the tape 40. During reproduction, if the heads 21 and 22 have different azimuth angles, signals are reproduced while being alternately traced with heads having the same azimuth angle as that used for tracing during recording.

Furthermore, when trying to apply the above method to current home VTRs such as the VHS method, there is a limit to the increase in the angle of wrapping due to compatibility reasons. #J However, if you try to increase the recording capacity by significantly increasing the winding angle without considering compatibility, the tape (or drum rotation axis)
It would be better to increase the inclination angle and increase the tape speed, but in this case, the disadvantage is that the recording time of the tape used is shorter than that of standard recording. Therefore,
In conventional VTRs, in order to record digital audio signals, the tape is wound 36 degrees more than before, and the same number of audio tracks as the conventional magnetic tracks are formed while recording. 2 during A/D conversion
Sampled at XfH (31.5kHz), 10b
It is best to compress the data into 8 bits and record it.
However, it had the disadvantage that it had insufficient characteristics for It i Fi audio, which requires a frequency band of nearly 20 kHz and a dynamic range of 80 d8 or more.

In the magnetic recording/reproducing apparatus of the present invention, the tape loading mechanism is configured to wrap the magnetic tape around the surface of the rotating drum at an angle greater than the standard angle, and when recording in the standard mode, one of the pair of SP heads is configured. M quasi-wound magnetic tape is carried out with the SP head to form a main information track in an angular range, and then the same SP head is used to wrap a second part of the magnetic tape on an extension of the main information track and with a larger number of wraps. 1 sub-information track is formed, and then the SP of the EP head is
The first EP head has an azimuth angle different from that of the head.
By overwriting and forming a second sub-information track on a part of the sub-+11191 track, a plurality of sub-information tracks are formed on an extension line of one main information track. However, when recording in long-term mode,
A pair of EP heads alternately wraps the magnetic tape according to the WA standard, with the main information track in the angular range, and the same EP on the part of the magnetic tape that is wound a larger amount on the extension line of the main information track.
The various drawbacks of the above-mentioned conventional devices are solved by forming sub-information tracks with the head, and by forming sub-information racks one by one on the extension line of one main information track. It is something.

Analog audio signals from a 2-channel microphone (not shown), etc. are supplied to input terminals IR and IL, and are passed through LPFs (low-frequency P-wave filters) 403 and 404, respectively, to an A/D converter 405.
The two R channels are time-divisionally converted into digital signals and sent to the data bus 406. Data on data bus 406 is stored in RAM 401. At that time, addresses are specified so that the data is interleaved. The data stored in the RAM 401 is sent out again to the data bus 406 and sent to the format encoder 40.
Error correction and detection codes are generated by RAM
407 and is stored at a different address. Since one field's worth of data and error correction/detection codes stored in the RAM 407 are compressed and recorded, they are read out at the signal speed recorded on the tape and sent to the modulator 4 via the data bus 406.
Supplied on 09. The modulator 409 modulates the digital audio signal to match the recording and reproducing characteristics of the VTR's rotary transformer (not shown), heads 211 to 214, and tape 40, and switches the RFC/Pa selector switch 4.
Supply to 10. RFC/Pa selector switch 410
is connected to the RFC terminal side during recording, and selects the PCM recording signal from the selection switch 5ELI constituting the signal switching unit 49.

Immediately after that, however, the EP head 212, which is narrower than the SP head 211 (about half the width), overwrites the almost central part of the SP head 211, causing audio (second sub-information No. 14) trouble 1.

As a result, the track 123 is divided into two parts, left and right, resulting in a total of three tracks and one silk track. Thereafter, audio tracks 125 to 128 are also formed in the same manner. Here, audio tracks 121, 124, 125 and video track 111 are adjacent to audio track 123, but these all have different azimuth angles from audio track 123, and the same applies to other combinations, so each recording There is almost no risk of tarostoring between the signals, and therefore there is no need to provide a guard band between these tracks, so the tape 40 can be used more efficiently and is more economical than in the first embodiment.

First, during recording, the SP head 211 for the first channel is used as shown in the figure (
The Nth one field of the video signal shown in C) is recorded to form the video track 111 shown in FIG. 8, and the one field period 300 of the corresponding audio signal in the vicinity thereof shown in FIG. and two PCH (digital audio)
The recording signals are divided into recording signals 303 and 304 (see (E) in the same figure) and output. The PCH recording signal 303 is the audio head 2
15, the PCH recording signal 304 is recorded on the audio track 123 formed before the video track 112, and then the PCH recording signal 304 is recorded on the left side (left half) of the audio track 123 by overwriting etc. with the EP head 214, and the audio track is formed. 124 is formed. Audio tracks 121 and 122 are formed by an audio head 216 and an EP head 212, respectively, and are respectively formed by a PCH recording signal 301.
, 302 are recorded. Immediately before the audio head 215 records the PCM signal 303, the audio head 215 records the FM audio signal 322 (see (0) in the same figure) in the deep part of the video track 112 during one field period 300 (see (0) in the same figure).
PCM signals 305 and 306 of 310 minutes of one field period of zeroth order, which may be configured to record (see )), are recorded on audio tracks 125 and 126 by audio head 216 and EP head 212, respectively. Similarly, audio tracks 127 and 128 are formed above the video track 114 as shown in FIG.

As is clear from FIG. 8, gJ adjacent audio tracks are formed so that their azimuth angles are even more different than in the second embodiment shown in FIG. 6, so cross-daughters between adjacent tracks are further reduced. There is no need to provide guard bands between the tracks, and the tape 40 can be used without waste, which is economical. Note that the video track 111 and the audio track 124 adjacent to it 191# have the same azimuth angle (÷6°), but since the carrier wave frequency bands used are different, there is almost no actual damage caused by cross daughter. ~1
If the FM audio signal is recorded in advance by the audio heads 215 and 216 in the deep part of the 14, it is convenient because it can be compatible with conventional so-called Hi-Fi recording type VTRs.

Then, the RFC/Pa changeover switch 410 is connected to the P8 terminal side, and when the rotary head 52 rotates and the tape 4o starts running, the SP heads 211, 213; EP head 214 and audio head 215 are switched in the same order as during recording. .216 is selected. The audio (digital audio) signals (303 and 304 in FIG. 10(J)) respectively reproduced by the respective heads 213 to 216 having the same azimuth angle as during recording are as shown in FIG.
The signals shown in A), (B), and '(F) select (SP heads 211, 213), EP heads 212, 214, and audio heads 215, 216, and the signals shown in (J) to (F) are selected.
At the timings shown in [), the PCM signals 303 and 304 are reproduced (Fig. (J)), error correction (period of the hatched part shown in Fig. (11)), and audio playback signal output (Fig. 300') is performed, and the sound is output from a speaker (not shown) or the like as a series of audio signals.

Finally, recording and reproducing operations in long-time mode, such as 3x, will be explained. Recording of video (picture) signals in the long-time mode is performed using the SP heads 211 and 21 in each of the above-mentioned embodiments.
EP heads 212, 214 are used instead of 3, and the PC
The HH audio signal is also recorded using the open-EP head while forming only one audio track on the extension line of each video track. The double mode is achieved by running the magnetic tape 40 at half the speed of the standard mode, and the 3 tti mode is achieved by running the magnetic tape 40 at half the speed of the standard mode. In addition,
In the case of 3x mode, the respective 19Il contact tracks touch or overlap;
As shown in B), since the azimuth angle between adjacent tracks is wide, there is almost no deterioration in signal quality due to cross daughters.

111), and one field period 30 of the corresponding audio signal near the N#-th video signal in the same figure (C).
The 0 part is compressed and one PCM recording (digital audio) signal 301 (see (F) in the figure) is subsequently recorded by the open-EP head 212 to form an audio track. Similarly, the N+-1st 1 of the video signal in FIG. 4 (8)
The field is recorded by the second channel EP head 214 to form a video track (112), and one field period 310 of the corresponding audio signal near this video signal is compressed into one PGM recording signal 303, which is Continue to record with the open-EP head 214 to form an audio track, and in the same manner, create a video track (113).
One audio track is formed on each of the subsequent tracks and above them. In this way, there is no need to switch the magnetic % (EP) head when forming the PCN (9 voices) head changeover switch
As shown in E), a recording pattern substantially similar to the conventional track pattern shown in FIG. 4 is formed by the operation of 0 or more, which is always at the L (low) level.

As can be understood from the above explanation, in long mode there is only one audio track, so the recording density is reduced and only half the data can be recorded compared to standard mode, but methods such as differential PCH and data compression are used. By performing noise reduction processing, error correction processing, which is a characteristic of PCM audio, is possible, and it is possible to record and reproduce audio signals of sufficiently excellent sound quality without level fluctuations.

In the above explanation, one or more audio tracks are formed on the upper extension line of each video track, but the invention is not limited to this. The configuration for realizing such a recording pattern can be achieved by only slightly changing the relative arrangement of the magnetic heads 211 to 216 on the rotating drum 20G and the configuration of the signal switching control section 55 in the signal processing circuit. It is also possible to form such audio tracks on both sides above and below the video track.

Since the magnetic recording/reproducing device of the present invention is configured as described above, it is possible to record and reproduce sub information signals in both the standard mode and long time mode, and when recording in the standard mode, the sub information signals can be recorded in the conventional manner. Although the limited magnetic data winding is recorded in the increasing angle range of the device, the recording area can be doubled, and when a digital audio signal is used as the sub information signal, the frequency band is close to 20kllz. For old Fi audio systems that require a dynamic range of 80 dB or more, it is possible to provide a VTR with sufficiently high-quality characteristics, and in addition, in conventional devices with magnetic heads for standard mode and long-time mode, the signal processing circuit's signal This can be achieved by only slightly changing the configuration of the switching control section, etc., and if adjacent sub-information signal recording tracks are formed with different azimuth angles, crosstalk can be almost ignored; There is no need to provide a guard band between them, and the magnetic tape can be used without waste, making it economical. Furthermore, magnetic heads with thicker azimuth angles can also be used to alternately use the magnetic tape for sub information. , it has the excellent feature of being able to further reduce the talostator when a tsuk is formed.
