Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance decorative effects and durability by interposing an oxide coat layer between a metallic base material and a pattern part, and interposing a release plated layer between the metallic base material and the oxide coat layer, and further, forming a plated layer on the non-pattern part of the base material. CONSTITUTION: A release plated layer 6 is formed on the surface of a metallic base material 1 using a plating process such as electroplating or electroless plating, and further, an oxide coat layer 2 is formed on the surface of the release plated layer 6 using a chemical treatment, e.g. chromate treatment, chemical process or the like, or an electrochemical treatment e.g. black chromium plating, black nickel plating or the like. In addition, any appropriate pattern is printed on the oxide coat layer 2 by screen printing, and the oxide coat layer 2' and the release plated layer 6' formed on a non-pattern part where the screen printing is not applied are removed by soaking the layers 2', 6' into a non-erosive acidic or alkaline solution which does not erode a base material 1 such as of chromatic acid, hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, sodium hydroxide. Next, a plated layer 5 is formed on the non-pattern part 4 by plating process such as electroplating or electroless plating.
