Claims (1)

    【実用新案登録請求の範囲】
  1. ＴＮ型の液晶表示素子において、一対の基板の
    対向面にそれぞれ形成した配向膜の配向処理方向
    をほぼ直交させ、かつ前記一対の基板間に封入す
    る液晶材料の屈折率異方性△ｎと液晶層の層厚ｄ
    との積△ｎｄの値をほぼ約１．３〜１．５の範囲
    に選ぶとともに、前記一対の基板の外面側にそれ
    ぞれ配置する一対の偏光板のうち、一方の偏光板
    の偏光軸方向を、前記一対の基板面の配向膜のう
    ちいずれか一方の配向膜の配向処理方向を基準と
    して液晶分子配列のねじれ方向とは逆方向に約５
    °ずらし、他方の偏光板の偏光軸方向は、前記一
    方の配向膜の配向処理方向とほぼ平行にしたこと
    を特徴とする液晶表示素子。
