きに回動したときには弾機装置5の作用で降下す
るようになつているが、弾機装置5が上述する如
く上送り腕を常に押下げるよう作用しているため
ミシンを止めたとき主軸が自由に回転できる状態
にあり、かつ上送り台4が持上げられた状態にあ
ると、上送り歯1が針板上の布或いは針板に達す
るまで上送り台4が降下し、これによりクランク
7も押下げられ、主軸の回転トルクが小さいと慣
性の作用により下死点乃至下死点付近まで降下し
主軸を逆回転させるようになる。こうした主軸の
逆回転は上送り歯が上昇行程にある時問題とな
る。ミシンを再び動かして縫製を開始するとき目
飛びを生ずるようになるからである。このことを
第2A〜E図に基づいて更に詳しく説明すると、
第2A〜E図は三本糸を使用したオーバーロツク
ミシンの縫目形成過程を示すもので、第2E図に
示す状態、すなわち上送り歯1が持上げられ、右
ルーパ11が左ルーパ12のループ13より抜出
した段階でミシンが止められ、バネの作用で上述
する如く主軸が逆回転すると、右ルーパ11は上
記ループ13を掬わないで右ルーパ糸が針14に
掬われる手前の第2C図に示す状態に戻る。この
段階では図示するものと異なり右ルーパ11には
ループ13が掛けられていないためミシンが再び
駆動されると目飛びを生ずる。かゝる主軸の逆回
転による目飛び現象は上送り台がバネ負荷される
既知の他のタイプの上送り装置においてもまた上
述するような三本糸を使用するオーバーロツクミ
シンに限らず針糸と左ルーパ糸を使用する二本糸
用のオーバーロツクミシンにおいても同様に生
じ、ことに上送り歯が針落ちより送り方向後方に
作用するミシンでは顕著に生ずる。
