本発明に於ては、CD間でYB a2 Cu30x多結
晶を局所加熱し、下方の単結晶化した部分に整合するよ
う、局所加熱部の結晶粒を運動させる。このためCDは
狭い方がよいわけである。CDが20n以上あると、必
ずしも単結晶化した部分に近い方から粒界の成長運動が
起るのではないようになる。そうなると、単結晶化が妨
げられる。

気とし、室温〜100℃の低温部ABと温度勾配が50
℃/cm〜200℃/cmである昇温部BCと、温度T
_2が700℃〜900℃である高温部CDと、温度勾
配が−200℃/cm〜−50℃/cmである降温部D
Eと、室温〜100℃の低温部EFとよりなる温度分布
の中を、0.05mm/day〜5mm/dayの速度
で移動させることにより固相を保ちながら、高温超電導
体多結晶を高温超電導体単結晶に変化させる事を特徴と
する高温超電導体バルク単結晶作製法。
